So, uh, hello. This is my first actual attempt at making a song, so, uh, sorry if it kinda sucks. I don't really know much about this stuff at this point, but anyone could be willing to give honest criticism and advice, I would appreciate it all.

It needs more variation, also put each instrument in a mixer track and eq them because it is a little muddy. After that you should adjust the volumes of each track. However you are doing well for your first track.

First of all, I'm going to admit that I badly padded the whole thing out in an effort to get a longer play time (which, is a bad thing, obviously,) but how would you go about making further parts. It is good thing to keep the same chord structure in each section, right, but change the rhythm and instrumentation for more variation, right, or can you do pretty much anything as long as it sounds good and fits with the rest of the song.

Not entirely I usually do this to create a placeholder of where a new melody will begin.
I don't know why I do it, but it helps me think.

Pretty much anything as long as it sounds good, I usually stay with the same chord progression, however if I feel I have overused it and it is getting boring I will go and change it.

Also when I add my melodies I try to keep it locked to the scale to start and if it doesn't sound right I will adjust the problematic notes.
