This was originally ambiance, and it was going smoothly, but then I heard TLT's week 1 round-up and I felt like I was a little too much out of the shadow. I was doing something nice and unique, but then I figured that the style I was trying wouldn't exactly fit into an entire album made up of fast paced songs, and I felt a little left out. I'm sure he would have still taken my song, but I don't think it would have fit in completely. So I decided to try a different approach and just go EDM all the way, I'm still going to do the ambiance one, since I like where it's still going, but i'm not going to offer it to him to be part of his album.

Anyways, about this. This is just the build, and the reason I'm only putting the build in here is because I'm not usually good with builds, however I feel like the drop is adequate enough. I have yet to make an intro, and so when I get around to that I'll do an update.
So I'm asking, am I missing anything? I know builds are just usually composed of a riser, a faster paced kick, as well as some other things the artist feels like inserting. Also this is my first actual attempt at making one, so any sort of constructive feedback would be awesome!

I like it a lot. It sounds creepy and foreboding... it would be a good intro for a track that is stylistically similar to "The Drowned" on your soundcloud. I could see it building to a huge static explosion of white noise, like when slenderman (slendermane?) shows up in a video, that loud distorted noise.

That's all I really have for feedback, the waveform looks like a sword which is pretty fricking awesome!

I understand your issues with inspiration, I've been struggling to start a song this entire last week. You can't really force it, but you can't sit around forever not making music either. :\

As far as the Tombstone Compilation I'd say go for it! I doubt anyone is using vocal samples the way you have so it will be a refreshing addition.

That's extremely uplifting, Thank you for that. I was thinking of trying to go for that same creepy feeling, but I'm gunna try and make it so it doesn't sound too familiar to "The Drowned."

I never even noticed that, that is pretty cool. I think I just need to keep working on this, I usually lose interest within a week or so, but I'm kind of feeling this one.

Again, thanks for the feedback, it is extremely helpful and encouraging. good luck on any of your future tracks, too.

I think I see what you're going for here. I'm getting a nice and supernatural vibe off of this. The Fluttershy voice and static helps to create an eery and otherwordly feel. Right now, this is a short intro, but if you're able to transition into something more and not let it become repetitive and boring, I think you might have something stellar on your hands.

Since it's so short, I'm not able to provide you with a lot of technical feedback. You don't have too many elements going on yet, so there's no real conflict in the mix at all. I'll be interested in seeing where you take this

Sounds good man. Like Injustrial said though, there's not much context to work with so it's difficult to tell if the sound has or would have any glaring issues once placed in an actual track or whatever. But yeah, from this brief glimpse, I like it. The swell/wub at the end might ramp up in volume slightly too quickly for me, but I might just be looking for problems where there are none for the sake of feedback. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Really cool. Love the vocal sampling and the building nature of the beginning section.

I like the chords and the sampling at 0:30 but I feel like the rhythm of the beats is a little too disorienting, I'm not saying to make it a more conventional beat, it can still be complex but I really feel like I get lost in it, making it harder to focused on the music. I like the intro and I like the drop itself but I feel like the main chorus could be a bit crisper and cleaner.

Other than that I really like the style and the production, it sounds cool and it has a really nice electronic style that isn't as boring or conventional as a lot of more mainstream EDM.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a bunch for the feedback, the build was what took most of the production time, and your input really boosted my spirits.
I was indeed trying to go for that kind of complex feel with the beat and I have to agree that it sounds kind of strange now that I listen to it on a different perspective. The drop was pretty much stacked together, and I've noticed sections that don't really mix together either. This is still only the first part so there I'm probably going to change some things here and there, including the things you've mentioned.
I really appreciate the feedback, especially since I completely changed the direction on this.

Right now I'm listening to this on a cheap as ass 5.1 setup. Keep this in mind....

I hear some bass, but it is very low after the intro is done. Your opening is extremely sexy, and the robotic voice afterwards hits all my buttons. Then it feels like nothing's happening. I get that this is a WIP and you're going to do this amazing drop / continuation on the track, but what you've submitted so far is super annoying! I want this to transcend into the sickest break I've ever heard. I want my mind to be blown by immense bass and super sexy drum rhythms. I want to break out in dance and busting party moves. And you just cut me off like that!

I already know i need a better drop, it's just that I can't exactly construct it yet. Between making an intro and a better drop, right now I'm on the intro, which seems to be going alright, I already have the rhythm in the intro, so now I just need to transfer that rhythm to the drop, which is always my weakness. And I don't want to make the drop so intense that it starts to sound like shit, because I tend to do that. If you could give me an example of what exactly you're looking for I might be able to make it more pleasing because right now I'm at a loss.

So this is the update. I haven't really changed much but just extending it a little and modifying the basses a little, aswell as some premastering.

Notes:
1. I honestly think the drop is fine, I actually tried remaking it but about 30 mins in I figured that this is a remix and I can't please everyone, so I just decided to go with what sounded nice to me, henceforth I pretty much left it the way it was. However I did take into account some of the concerns and modified the drop a little.
2. Does the drop sound fine? As I said, I modified it only a little so was it enough, too much, or too little? The reason I ask is because I plan on copying and pasting the drop and putting it as the second which will sound similar but will have its noticeable differences.
3. Is the riser okay? I changed that also, and to me I think I need to tweak it a little.
4. How are the vocals? I showed my sister this, who happens to be a pretty good singer, and she said that the vocals sometimes go off tune. To me it sounds fine, but if anyone around here is a singer I could really use your ear.

That's pretty much all I have to say til' the next update.

This as a whole sounds a lot better, I don't know if it was the mixing that you did but the rhythms and flow just seemed to click a lot more for me.

2 - I feel like the drop could use a little more impact, that being said I would rather you keep it the way it is than ruin the whole mix because of it.

3 - I'm not really a House or EDM producer so I have no educated comment here.

4 - I am a vocalist and trombonist so I usually have a good ear for pitch and the tuning of the vocals did not seem like an issue to me. At times the voice samples have a bright tone which sounds a little out of tune but I honestly don't think it's an issue in this style of music. I don't think you really need to change it, stylistically I think the vocals fit the electronic feel of the piece.

This is really good, I've been enjoying your work a lot lately and have been learning a lot about techno genres that I have been unfamiliar with as a newcomer to non-acoustic music. Keep on creating and producing, and keep having fun!

Thanks a bunch for the commentary, I've really been trying to make this work and it's extremely uplifting to hear your opinion.

Well, I guess I can try and make a more hard hitting bass instead of the same one used, just for a little more variety, but I'll try not to mess it up.
The vocals will remain pretty much the way they are then, i'm glad to have gotten some feedback on that part.

You have truly been a massive help in this, I wasn't expecting any attention since this is extremely extended out. Thanks again!

So this is the complete version of the song. Intro, drop, and ending. It's been a pretty long journey, but I feel like this is all that needs to be done and I feel pretty okay with it. Of course I still need to master it accordingly but that is for later. I'm probably going to change a tiny bit more things around and maybe add or subtract something, but all in all this is pretty much what it is going to sound like.

Some notes:
1. Does anything sound obscure, weird or out of harmony? This is vital because this is pretty much it and I don't want to spend about an hour on the final mixing and mastering only to hear a strange click or out of tune noise.
2. How is the intro and ending? The two things I happen to struggle on is the intros to songs, as well as their ending. Before I had one of the worst intros I have ever seen. So for inspiration I listened to many songs and even some of my previous work to see what I had did, and I finally figured something out. What I did was combine the elements from the ambiance version of this with this. I think it worked out pretty well for the intro and ending, which is pretty much exactly how the ambiance track sounded, all I did was add the kicks and hats and took out some of the other sounds that were in the ambiance, so it's pretty much a combination of the ambiance and the EDM.
3. How is the second drop? Since I was suggested to make a more intense drop, I tried to leave that to the second drop. I tried to make it a little more hard hitting or fast paced, and I think it's alright, but I can't trust myself when it comes to my own opinions.
4. Lastly, and I hate asking for this, but what would you rate this as? I feel like it's one of my best works and am pretty happy for it. And before I release it and give it to TLT, I would like to know how one would see it as. I would prefer you use this scale:

1/10- Jesus is crying.
2/10- My Ears!
3/10- What are you doing?
4/10- This is decent.
5/10- This pretty okay.
6/10- This is some pretty nice stuff!
7/10- This pleases me very much.
8/10- Wow, this is awesome!
9/10- This is unbelievable.
10/10- Praise the lord!

This is pretty much the final version, all the mixing seems to be done to me, everything sounds pretty much okay. I actually felt confident enough to try and master this, but when I tried conventional methods, and I even looked up a video to make sure I was doing it right, they did not work at all, so I ended up having to spend additional time reverting back to the original(because for some reason I decided I needed to change the volume levels and effects on everything), which was a true pain. So after about 49 hours I think I may have actually finished an actual electronic type song. I made a few adjustments to the bass once more, just trying to get that more heavy or impacty feel to it, and that's pretty much as far as I'm going to try and get it.

So Feedback on this is greatly appreciated, as well as any last concerns or mentions that I could fix or something. I'll probably send it to him this coming week, maybe Wednesday since I still need to actually made a video and put this up on the youtubes. Any sort of criticism is welcomed also!

I really like it, you have put a lot of time into it and it really shows! The vocal melody sounds great throughout the song and I really like the subdued bridge section that you added.

The rhythm can be a little hard to follow at times, especially compared to house music, but I feel like everyone and their mother makes pony house mixes with conventional beats, I'm glad that you stuck to your guns and made a track that sounds out there and different, but still really creative and awesome.

I would probably give it a 7, I am really digging the fact that it sounds unique and you put your own style into it.
I would definitely enjoy seeing this get a spot on TLT's album. Good luck with the submission!

I thank you also for actually taking the time to reply, this has certainly been stretched out and I don't usually spend the amount of care into other things as I did with this. I'm glad to hear your feedback and I'm happy you were able to provide viable notes and suggestions to help me through this mess. I will be sure to give a mention to you, as well as injustrial for the help and feedback.

I can never decide what to put for the picture, I like so many, but I sure don't want the FBI anywhere around there or here, guess I'll change it FS or something.
