NEW THREAD, NEW WIP!

Just a couple of specific things this time:
1. First things first. Did you like it? Is it something you would listen to more than once?
2. Think it flows well from one part to the next? At this stage I'm still just throwing ideas at the wall and seeing what sticks.
3. I guess it's more ambient than orchestral. Whatever it is, it's definitely a very different genre for me. I've never made anything quite like it, so pretty much any feedback would be helpful.

I really like the beginning, I imagine the opening scene to a scary video game or scary level. I also like that weird noise at 1:48, pretty cool. The scary monk voices and choir make for very nice touches, the same for that up and down noise at 2:11, sort of sounds like the noise that comes around when there are spiders lurking about.

Yeah, I would listen to this numerous times, it's pretty creepy sounding, would definitely play as a Halloween track.

One thing is that this sounds more ambient that orchestral(which you stated), the only thing, I believe, that makes this a little orchestral are the strings that are used. Take out the strings and this sounds like a complete ambiance track.
The thing that bothers me a little is also the strings. Since this is more ambient than orchestral I would probably just either take out the strings completely or make them sound a little eerie and detuned so they could better fit with the actual ambiance. That's just something I would do, though. Even so, I still think it sounds really nice and that the strings sound fine enough for them not to bother me too much.

I like Guthey's idea of detuning the strings slightly. Just modding the pitch on one of the oscillators ~5-10 cents would do a lot to build under the slightly unnatural vibe I'm hearing.

Do I like it? Yes, yes I do. Depending on the setting, I would have no problem listening to this several times. If I were GM'ing an RPG setting or something, I could see myself reaching for something like this.
If I'm getting blasted on Jägerbombs and partying hard, I'd probably look elsewhere XD

Does it flow well? Well, I don't feel any transitions are really jarring or anything. The soft and floaty sounds do a lot in that respect. I don't think adding more elements would tie the piece better, so I'd recommend you to build on what you have and expand on the already established elements and synths, rather than creating more and more on top of it.

Genre: I'd call this ambient. Though there are orchestral components, the rest of the soundscape is very moody and BGM'y. I think, making the cellos more brittle and lo-fi would be interesting. Right now, they sound a bit dominant and threatening, when the rest of the piece is more ominous and lingering.

To explain it a bit better: The ambient parts make me feel I'm in a broken down old room. Something's... off, but I can't really put my finger on it, and I should probably start getting pretty worried soon...
The strings make me feel the camera has shifted away from me and instead focuses on something dark, but unidentifiable. Right now, we can't make out what it is, but it's big, filling the entire screen and oh GOD THERE'S AN EYE!

But yeah, this could be very cool indeed. Right now it does end very abruptly and there's room to push either the eerie feeling, or the threatening looming feeling (perhaps even both) further. I'd recommend you don't go too overboard with either, though, since I really think subtlety is vital in this type of music. Less is more, leave something for the listener's imagination, and so forth. Hope this helps, sorry I can't be more specific with my feedback

Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep your suggestions in mind. And, yeah, I changed the genre to ambient. Not that it matters very much, though. It's pretty new territory for me.

And Injustrial, I'm sorry for not reciprocating and giving you feedback on your WIPs. I would except I don't know anything about the genres you write in.

Not at all, we do stand on two pretty separate islands. Hmm, what if you forgot about "correct" feedback for the genre and just phrased it from your perspective? It could be interesting to see your take on things ;)
