<semi-pony> <House> <original> Flutterscape

Alright! After like, a year or so, I've decided to finish a track and have my fair share of feedback.

The song's kinda inspired by Fluttershy and Starbound, thus the cute-ish feeling.. I think. Semi-pony tag is due to only being (partly) inspired by pony.

I must say that I'm quite proud of myself; 2 years ago (I've been slacking, don't judge me) I wouldn't even dream of being able to make something like this, I think I've reached the point where I can enjoy my own music

.. Don't get me wrong though; I don't wanna appear cocky. I still consider myself a super-super-noob, but I think I progressed to super-noob after this one got finished

Edit:

Final version, was able to fix some stuff, including the ducking injustrial pointed out (holy shit i had no idea there was so much sub bass in there)

kinda derped the highpass filter in the first riser imo..

Also, title suggestions please?

- Note: I might have to remaster the sub bass. Wasn't at home, so no subwoofer while mastering this

You have way too much reverb on your kick in the the intro, it eats up everything when it plays, making the other instruments phase in and out.

I think this is a prime example of me valuing content over quality. I like the melodies, the retro-esque sounds and the minimalist nature of it. The mix is suffering hard, but not enough for me to completely dismiss the track as a waste of time.

Also: greetings from a fellow Norwegian :D

Hei, lol.

Anyway, uhh.. There's absolutely *no* reverb on the kick?

I'll just assume you mean decay, and I wanna mention that it's intentional.. As for the pad phasing out.. I *think* I sidechained it to the low end of the kick and the sub bass, but I don't even know anymore.. I'll have a look at it later

Hm, if there's no Reverb on the kick itself, then you should look at subtractive EQ on it. Or lower the decay settings on your sidechain. It's eating up so much, completely blanketing the other instruments

Yep, the pad is sidechained to the kick (or is it the other way around, perhaps?) regardless, the ducking you hear is intentional; it's not badly mixed, unless there's something else I'm unaware of.. And I kinda like it.. I'll have another look at it when I've got my sub woofer back; the headphones I'm using now kinda makes the pad too loud if I don't do it this way

Edit: the ducking isn't unintenionally badly mixed*
