<pony remix> Synthis - Broken Wings (Drumstep Remix)

Postby Proctra » 30 Dec 2013 10:09

Hello everyone, just slappin da bass around these parts looking for some critiquing on my new remix. I feel it could have been better given more time, though that pretty much goes for anything really. Anywho, have a look, judge me if you will.

This is really good :3
The snare has very little noticeable impact though, it's far too weak for this genre.
Intro is nice and keeps listener attention, the swingy arps are nice too.
The basswork in the drop is amazing, especially that vocal bass. Maybe the second drop could've done with some more variation - perhaps you could have kept it in double time for a period or introduced some new bass sounds.
Veeeery nice work though mate.

Thanks for the kind words.

I have some trouble with drums in general, it's an area I struggle with. I'm hoping to make some nice more powerful snares and such. I agree I could've added a bit more variation to the second drop. What I had originally switched up when I got to the second drop wasn't really to noticeable. Introducing new sounds on different drops is something I haven't dabbled with yet, I'll make sure to in my next production though.
