<pony><original><metal> Ad Luna - Tempus

I collaborated with a prominent metalcore vocalist to make a djent track that I'm super proud of! It's been months in the making, I hope everyone likes it! (Sorry if I tagged it wrong, I'm new to this site, haha)

"I collaborated with a prominent metalcore vocalist"

He might not be Howard Jones or whatever, but that's pretty impressive. Anyway, not my favorite style, but aside from my personal preference it seems to be a pretty good song.

Holy hell yes I read that right it says metal! And is Metal!

Okay. Letsee.

Love the atmosphere of the guitar and synth, really beautiful and brutal, and good combining of melody and rhythm. Have to say though, when the vocals come in at first, it sounds a little out of place. It's still good, but a little strange to the ear. Kinda Happens again when the screams come in. Just some odd structuring.

Love the change around 0:50, the vocal melody sounds brilliant. Maybe would have changed up the gallop pattern or added a little variation, but it's pretty good. Screams come in, and it goes from that fun sounding mix of Major and Minor to an overt minor, and I really like that. The melody changing completely from what I expected there is what made me realise this is pretty Djent if you consider Progressive qualities a valid way to judge something as Djent. Which I do. However, at 1:15, I feel like the root note you used on the rhythm guitar doesnt fit well with the lead guitar or the vocals. Don't know what else to say about that. Maybe it does and i'm just being weird. Oh wait there it is.

The little thingy you did between that section and the next at 1:16 - 1:17 probably should have followed the same note that the lead guitar played first in that section. Having a more defined lower note there would really help with the transition and make the next section sound greater.

Okay! Next section. Very tasteful use of stops on guitar, I like that! Some notes in the lead line before the solo part maybe could have been a little different, and would probably sound a little nicer if they followed the chords a bit more directly. But solo! I would have boosted the volume of the Solo there, because it's a guitar solo. The focus is the awesome and the lightning bolts flying out of the lead guitar's sexy wailing, not so much the djenting of the rhythm haha.

Back to the chorus, I love the chorus. Clean vocals we're kinda flat in some parts as she rose higher, but that's okay. Just a thing to maybe consider next time or something :3

Breakdowny thing? It is sexy. I likey the transition, but it has a strange connection to the breakdowny thing. The Breakdowny thing really makes me want to mosh and headbang, especially after the ting! I love that ting. Oh hey it goes down again! Oh so that's the breakdowny thing there! my bad. Sounds good. I laughed a little at the "bffluaagh!" on vox. not because it's bad or anything. I just found it funny xD

The slow section after that is really different from the rest of the song in a great way. I like it. The scream vocal technique sounds a little odd at first when it's just starting up, but it gets a bit better and fit's a little more as it gets into it. I love the chord progression here though. Great feedback to end with too.

Melody of that djenting riff is amazing. Love it. Really brilliant, and it ends well, but probably not the strongest ending you could have had. Doesn't mean it was a bad ending at all, it ended well.

Ok there I don't know if thats helpful or good or whatever but a reviews a review, I guess :3 Should be plenty there for you to, uh...enjoy? think over? What do you do with a wierd-review-thingy? I dunno. It's there because yay music and metal.

Really good song though. Gonna sub, can't wait to hear some more stuff from you!

Oh dear how did i miss this thread.
Djent is awesome and you make it sound epic. Nice.

Anyway, On to critique, the transition at 0:50 sounds really weird IMO. Really sudden/out of the blue.
The clean vocals are kinda repetetive and sound a little off key or something. I don't know i don't really like clean vocals anyway, so it could be me :P

But yeah that's basically everything not that good i have to say about it. Really amazing.
The riffs are really cool and so is the tone. I've heard people try djent in the community (including myself) but you're the first that i've found to actually get the tone right. Also the heavy vocals are freaking epic.
Congratulations. You've made an epic song. Can't wait to see more from you :)
