<WIP> it this DJ worthy?

Postby randomblockfilms » 01 Jan 2012 16:32

Well here is a little tune i made. Its ment to be a dance/electro/house beat. the saw lead i made from scratch and i was wondering if there is anything that could be improved on it. all the other instruments were basic default things that have some effects on them.

And if you are a DJ, what would you add to it so that it would be worthy of dancing to? Cause to me it still sounds a little bit cheezy.

It's DJ worthy from what I hear. But make the kicks more defined, they are kind of two clicks instead of one, that's not DJ friendly.

You just need a second and faster beat (cymbals) to come in on top of the first to get people dancing and of course some additional elements but I like this initial piece. Keep working on it.

Thanks for all of your replies!

The kicks are kind of quite(well not really quiet, just very low in frequency) and they do have this sort of click in them. probably not the best to use.

DOH! thats what i was missing. i knew i needed one more drum part and i think it was the cymbals.

The kick's click is okay. The problem is you have two clicks at different times. That makes it sound unclean.

I tend to forget those too.

OH ok yeah now i see what ya mean. hmm i guess.... well.... i dont know what is causing that. i think its the kick and one of the toms interfering with each other. not sure but i suppose i shall do some detective work to figure this out.
