<Piano> Freewave - Fixing Futashy Remix

Postby VaporBlaze » 21 Sep 2013 17:14

This song is not-so-subtly split into two halves. The first is sort of an honorific tribute that tries to follow the original note for note. The second half is more what I would call a cover, instead of a remix.

Unfortunately, if you were to take a snippet isolated from each half, I don't think it would be obvious that they come from the same piece.

I enjoyed how both parts sound on their own, and I tried my best to tie them together so the transition isn't super jarring, but I can't say how good of a job I did, so if you want to take a listen and give some feedback and critique, I'd really appreciate it; I'm not putting this piece down just yet.

Well I really enjoyed it including the unique touches you did for the second half (and you know that). I do highly anticpate the additional touches you have for it in the future. We'll fix that Futashy yet!! :D

I would like to have some glitch in there in the future in someway, whether its glitched guitars or whatnot. I'm getting a strong glitch hop vibe IF you wanna go that way. If not that's cool too!!:)

Now that I have released this version as a solemn and respectful tribute, I suppose I would be more comfortable getting a bit more creative with it. I did initially plan to have play around with glitching the original guitar stem (I think you remember the bit I sent you with that). Right now, I'm thinking of trying something in the style of this Your Faithful Student (Sapphire Shores Remix): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aonX_JpC ... bmX1JSPt5T.

Thanks! Meditation isn't quite the vibe I get from it, but I hoped to make the second have be rather "contemplative" or "introspective" sounding.

The transition sounds great, no problem with that. I like the touches you added to the second half - that's assuming that the first half is indeed a note-exact cover because I've never heard it before.

Can't help but notice some off-key notes at 0:40 and 0:57; both are an "F" over an A chord, and the song is in Bm - makes no sense musically. Dunno if the original is like that?

Pretty chill track, I agree with that. c:
oops I dropped the bass

will you pick it up for me
