Rework and remaster of my first house song (from like 5-6 months ago). It's amazing to me how much better this one is than the first version (which I believe is still up). Basically I redid the mixing, mastering, and drums especially, then edited the ending slightly, but other than that I tried to remain as faithful to the original as possible, so there's no new synths or anything.

As I like doing, I will provide good feedback on one of your songs in exchange for good feedback on mine. Just specify the song and give me a link or direct me to a thread.

:3

EDIT:
Wow, I had way too much low end.

Is the snare really distorted? It sounds really distorted, like bitcrushed or something. The melody of this song just feels... off, sorta like it's offtune, but not really. There are some parts where the melody sounds out of tune, but also in tune. Also, the melody never really feels fully resolved, it doesn't sound like it's sending a complete message. Other than that, everything else is well done.

I guess if you really want to review one of my tracks, you can review this, which I'm going to be placing in my in progress EP thingy. It's already mastered too.

Wasn't distorted at all. Sounds fine on my end.

Can you point out where? I always thought this chord progression was alright

Also, the melody never really feels fully resolved, it doesn't sound like it's sending a complete message.

That's very possible; I've never been too good at that kind of stuff.

Other than that, everything else is well done.

Thanks :3

I'll get right on that in a little bit. I may not have time for a few hours, but if I don't get it to you within 5 hours then PM me and I'll do it right when I get back on.

I can't hear much of anything wrong with it, sounds pretty good! The ending brings the song to a close nicely.

And as I don't have any finished songs as of now, I can't really ask for critique in return, so don't worry about that :3

It's nice to know what songs sound like to an average listener rather than a long-time producer. Not to say it doesn't have flaws, but still :3

I dont feel the chord progression is very solid either, or rather what the plucky instruments. This is very prominent around 1:28 where you introduce the plucky thing and 2:05 . It just sounds a bit out of key because there isnt too much harmonic content to support it, I believe. The notes are also playing with the same note length all the time, which just makes them feel even more offkey.

I agree; the arp and the main chord progression aren't actually even close to the same. Might even be in different keys; I didn't bother checking.

Arrangementwise, it shows this was some of your early work. Its honestly a rather boring song, with not much diversity in what you do with the different parts in the arrangement.

I definitely agree; I didn't want this to be a VIP or anything more than just a remake so I literally didn't rearrange the song at all (aside from a very slight change at the end).

Raincheck on reviewing some of my shit again, as I am lazy and never finish anything. Just look forward till when I post anything and you can be like "This is garbage, how dare you"

Will do :3
