<Pony><Original> U.P.loaded (Underground Ponays)

I'm new here, yes, but I've been making music for a little while though. The first link below is my latest track. I'm not sure what genre I'd classify it is, but I am looking for some constructive feedback on it.

And for the rest of my work (genres will vary, I think)...

That is some grimy shit
i fucking love it. Honestly genres dont matter imo,
criticism (take it with a grain of salt, i listened from my phone and im pretty sure that its got a bit of post EQ before it reaches my Sol's)

I'd say work on making different synths to fill more space, right now you had an awesome low end synth, but the upper part felt empty, even just some dark atmospheric pads would work

Mixing, I cant stress this enough (and i have to stress it for myself too since im clearly not the best with it) but an awesome track can be completely shit if the mixing's off, For this track it just sounded a bit too centered and without enough highs to balance the mix

Creativity wise i love it, sounds experimental and gritty which i think rocks

Cheers!

Thanks for listening! I was definitely going for a gritty, grimy feel for this track, so I'm glad I got that part down.

Honestly, I'm not too familiar with music terminology...so I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say "upper part" and "enough highs". Could you please explain that further for me?

In all seriousness, I do appreciate the feedback. I won't be able to work on this one for a while though (2-3 weeks, give or take), but I will see what I can do to fix the empty parts you were referring to...once I recognize what those empty parts are.

well i recommend throwing a spectrum analyzer on your track so you can get a visual sence for what im saying, but basically when you make a sound you have your sub bass (really low frequencies) and your hi-hats/lasers/other high pitched timbres, when i say adding highs i mean making it so there are more upper frequencies in your track, so things like hi-hats or sound effects, and the like
sorry if this doesnt help, im not too good at explaining things xD

Got it. I realize the hi-hats on this track are rather dull sounding...I think they got muted in volumed considerably when I originally mixed-down the track. When I get back from my break, I'll see what I can do to fix that...I may just get a SoundCloud---

Anyone else got constructive feedback on U.P.loaded please? Thanks. =D
