(Disclaimer- everything listed is very new and open to change, suggestions are welcome!)
Album name- Soft Spectrum
Our goal here is to make something soft or chill. But don't leave if you're not an ambient composer- this isn't an ambient album. Anything liquid or chill, be it DnB, Dubstep, or even Orchestral will be accepted for listening.
Tracks must be submitted in November 1st - November 4th for judging. The Album will be released November 11th (11/11/12). Until further notice, please submit all tracks to my Skype at piedoom0. If you do not have Skype, please PM me here on the forums. I will then distribute your track to the judges.
NOTES ABOUT SUBMITTING A TRACK
-must be an mp3 file (wav is for bandcamp)
-must NOT be a video
-must be hosted on a 3rd party site (Dropbox etc.)
-title must contain your name and title of your song
-please note submissions will only be judged after the due date. Do not ask for immediate results.
Guidelines for your song:
Must be chill. How chill? THIS CHILL. But again, don't just think chill is ambient and soundscapes, you can have liquid dubstep and DnB. I've provided some examples:

Do NOT make your song grotesque, upsetting, or hard. It will be rejected immediately. Upsetting constitutes things like screaming, sexual or inappropriate themes, blood, etc. Do not confuse upsetting with sad. Songs can be sad without being upsetting. I'm leaving this up to you guys' discretion. I'm sure you can distinguish what is appropriate.
Collabs are encouraged!
If you are Remixing a song, make sure you have the original composers consent BEFORE you start anything.
Do not release your full song until the album is out. You may release teasers. (Note that there may be a recommended date to finish teasers to have them featured: I'll keep you all posted.)
FAQ
Q: How many tracks can I submit?
A: You can submit more than one, but don't give us 10 to listen to. This is a community album, not your album. It's best to spend the time perfecting one song rather than trying to improve your chances by submitting many.
Q: How many tracks will be accepted?
A: It depends on how many entries we receive, and the quality of the tracks.
Q: Why aren’t you (x)?
A: If you have a suggestion, give me your Skype name and I'll add you to the official chat. We can discuss your suggestion there.
Q: Can I do dubstep?
A: You can make basically any genre as long as it's chill. Even Metal.
Q: Who judges the tracks?
A: The judges will be anonymous, and preferably people who are not submitting tracks.
Q: How does the judging work?
A: The way that I am thinking as of now, is that artists submitting tracks will be assigned a number. Their song will be re-titled as that number, and sent to the judges for judging, in order to cut down on bias (though I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem). The judges will then give the song points based on their QUALITY and COMPOSITION. The songs with the highest scores will be accepted.
Q: Does my song have to be pony?
A: It really doesn't matter. Some songs will be pony, some will not be. Don't force pony on a song.
Q: Is this a free album?
A: This is a free album with a donation option. All donations will go to charity (which we have yet to figure out).
Q: Can I use Copyrighted material?
A: Hasbro seems to be lax on pony samples, so that's fine. But I do say stay away from other copyrighted material. I don't want to be sued.

A: You can't thank me, take a look at this thread (viewtopic.php?f=21&t=3690) and see who really thought this up. I just adopted the idea and helped it along.

Also the BIGGEST way you can help get your song in the album is originality. We don't want 30 DnB and Dubstep tracks, either. Being said, originality doesn't have to do with genre. It has to do with many factors. Mix it up!
