It's progressive metal, we can pretty much do what we want. There'll be at least one part in which atonal classical will work.

Include me in your prog collab. I play an 8 string guitar.

I have a 6 string fretless bass, but it needs some work done.

lol I have no idea what those two words mean.

Atonality basically means there is no tonal center. So, if you piece has a key, it is not atonal.

... Okay, I may want to jump onto this prog metal collab as well. Atonal Classic + Minimalism = Delicious, delicious chaos. Complex rhythms and completely screwed up meter are my areas of expertise. :D

Well, maybe I'll just change my element to dissonant classical or something along those lines...

Schoenberg, the master of atonality

His earlier free atonality:

Then later he devised his twelve tone serialism method:

o, so it's basically in chromatic.

It might not be good for the massive collab song, but for solo's and small collab tracks, it sould. when are we actualy starting the massive one anyways?

Dissonant classical would probably work better for the prog metal collab.
And Chromatic, I was under the impression you were included this collab from the moment we decided to do it.

;_;
Do you guys need a lead guitarist?

You'd make the rest of us look bad.
Seriously, though, if you could do a solo on this song, that would be brilliant.

Yes, trancecore, it's interchangeable with freeform though.

Was going to call dibs on DnB, but it isn't my thing, I knew it was going to be taken anyway

One request for this collab. Assuming we have vocals, can we make this prog death metal (ie. Opeth or Between The Buried And Me)? I want to do some brutal vocals.

And perhaps we should add some avant garde elements to the prog metal collab (ie. Unexpect) for added swag, prog, and brutality.

I can go with that, and I was hoping someone would volunteer for brutal vocals, because I can't do them.

I'd prefer operatic vocals from Kyoga, but I'm just the bassist. And the symphonic guy, but I digress.

I'd totally do this giant collaborate o' doom, but I still have no clue what genre it is that I'm making. :I
(Original, witty signature here.)
Also, http://soundcloud.com/tranquil-hooves/complete-sunrise-in-equestria

If anyone can figure out what genre this is, please tell me, cause I have no clue. :D

Totally up for this Progressive Metal... thing. I could try to provide drums for it (though I don't know if I'm quite THAT good) and maybe a little piano improv?
Anyway, I guess my element is..... electro-orchestral?

So we've agreed this'll be awesome... now for someone to actually put down proper rules and guidelines along with some sort of deadline? I'm looking forward to what I, the element of surprise, will come up with! XP

they get shut out unless they can add something useful to the track. XD
I think it's a "who's qualified" type of track instead of an all-inclusive one.

haha lolo :P
This event needs some "rules and guidelines and what's happening" in the OP since I hab no idea what's happening anyways lol :P

Unless if I got this right: We're making a couple of collabs and solo songs, and there's one big humongous collab that is apparently prog metal.
