I'm having a hard time getting this to line up right at 120 bpm
Hmmm.

Looking at it myself, it seems like wu la cha's section starts a tiny bit late (like a 32nd note or so), and then EmpUbermensche's section jumps ahead roughly a 16th note when the beat drops.... And isn't actually at 60 BPM like I thought it was. Seems like it's 70 BPM (or 140 if you're counting double time).

NytMayr's section seems to be about 125 BPM.

Haha, okay guys, new rule: if you change the BPM or do any other rhythmic shenanigans, you must give us numbers to let us know what's going on.

Alright thanks, I'll get my section done later when I get the chance

Fimbulin wrote:because if we're going to be "remixing it" to be more structured, we might as well pick a new key and tempo and just write one or two sections and post them up as singles, because adding a cymbal rise or something is going to ruin the previous person's stuff, as well as my own if everything is going to be switched up.

Ummmmmmm. Well, kinda depends on how the remixing/rearranging goes, doesn't it? If only a few sections modify a preceding section, then the order of those specific ones would have to stay the same, but other things could be moved around.

E.g. we get song sections A, B, C, D, and E, where D has been modified to lead into E. We'd still have options to rearrange it like so:
DE-B-C-A, or B-DE-A-C, or A-A-DE-B-B-DE-C-C-DE, etc.

Anyone else have any input?

I switch it to 108 bpm at bar 30 (55 seconds)
Measure 34 I just put in the bass slide and cymbal to ease in making the transition, feel free to play over that or chop it out

If you ask me we should keep this as it is. After all it is ''Insanity Collab Calamity''. Somehow making this in to structured and orderly piece battles against the very idea of this entire thing. Besides, if you want to make it even remotely structured you'll end up with either 1 hour long song, or 10 independent songs.

Er, I certainly can't stop you if you want to make something now and post a link to it, but as far as "official" participation goes, I/we won't be recognizing it as part of the project, since it's out of order.

If you like, you can be added to the queue, however?

Gray Ham is up next.
legion2190, yes, we're still taking new people! I added you in line.

So hey, we're starting to reach larger file sizes, which reminds me: do we want to do something like switch to FLAC, switch to MP3 (ugh), or perhaps have people upload only their own section plus the one next to it? Or is this fine for everyone?

I'd rather not switch file types, keeping the audio as clean as possible is really important. If we start compressing into flac or mp3, every time someone does another track more quality will be lost in each previous recording. Technically each person only has to download and then upload the song once so its not that much of an issue. I'm fine with only uploading your track and the one previous but it makes it harder for people to manipulate previous parts of the song to go with theirs.

I was actually going to speed this baby up to 999.999bpm, but since it's 4 bars, it would end too quickly,

So I did 162, instead of 175 d'n'b action, because I was too lazy to stretch out the drums
