I wish I had more time to give advice, my life has got really busy these last few weeks and will continue for a few more. I think a sperate thread for balloon party wip's would be good and general questions/everything else would be posted in this thread.

I will just throw this out there if you want advice from me then send me a pm with your track and I will answer as I dont have time to check this thread after every new post.

Hey guys. So this would be my submission. I figured downright hard stuff would just bore people after a while, so i thought it would be cool to find some kind of a compromise between hard and nice. does it work for you?

WOW, fantastic job in this! This seriously feels like something STRAIGHT out of a video game :O I LOVE the ambient feeling to this track :D However I do feel like the main melody does get a little repetitive at times, maybe spicing it up with strings playing along with it like the "chorus" ones you used at 3:55. I'm not much of an expert at music, but I DO recognize a beautiful piece of work, and this is one of them. Other than the problems stated above, this is amazing! You kicked my song's behind.

thanks, but the thing I really wanted to know, was, if such a track is Balloon Party material in the first place. Do you expect 100%Neurofunk/Screamy-whatever-stuff from a DnB-track? Or is something like the one i posted okay, too?

First you got to say that you're doing it, AKA go to the participation link thing somewhere near the first page of the thread and sign up for it.

After that, I have no idea. If you want to release your track to the world on the SoundCloud group, go for it, but it's probably a better idea to privately ask circuitfry or AussieAsher about it.

Besides, I've talked to [REDACTED] and he says that there is a major pruning coming up of the Balloon Party tracks submitted so far.

Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to completely go off on a tangent >.< I think it qualifies for Balloon Party but maybe it could use more "hardness" to it; given the amount of time we have for this album expectations are rather high, so if you feel that you need to work on it more, than you probably do need to work on it. Just remember to have fun while improving it and to not "force" the music out :D

Ah, ok then. Just making sure. At this point, I suggest you directly contact Circuitfry or Aussie because I have no idea, haven't submitted anything yet

Yeah... One month before the deadline I was working on my Pinkamena's Massacre Cannon again. I was trying to make it... better, more melodic but still in progressive (or annoying, you call it). So forget about the old one and hear the new. Here you go a small demo of it...

In fact, the whole track is ready but it's waiting for 1th June xd

DJ Hellbunny, there's a few things I have to address.

First, which song (I assume you mean which genre or style) is entirely up to you. Hardcore, Death Metal, Moombahcore, Dubstep, Electro House, even Orchestral. Whatever is your genre of music is what you should try to write (and how I'd LOVE to see some Big Band Jazz on this album…). You can even create your own genre if you find it necessary. However, the only requirement of this album (other than good music) is that the music be hard. This donkey is REALLY, REALLY bald HARD. Now, as others have said on here, "hard" is not defined by "let's push every meter to red and add so much bass that nothing else even exists." "Hard" is very difficult to define. It just refers to the music isn't something that you'd expect to hear in an elevator or lounge. "Hard" is a bang-your-head-until-the-table-next-door-breaks kinda thing. But again, just loading lots and lots of noise bass into your track is NOT under any circumstances what we're aiming for.
You can just call me Decmaster.

Think of hard as being the opposite of relaxing. This isn't the music you listen to while trying to sleep. It's intense, will get your heart rate up, and may even be dark or creepy.

I can sleep easily to loud white noise, so volume and noise is not what you should be aiming for.

You should aim to make a track that, if someone were to try and listen to it while falling asleep, will utterly regret the decision, because their heart will be pounding from the sheer terror and intensity.

Hello everyone!
Here's my contribution to the Balloon Party compilation. I worked alot on making it as heavy and hardcore as possible~

I also have a question. If I submit 2 songs, is both of them gonna get picked or just the best one? He said something about it in the video about picking the best one, but I see that guys like Omnipony and The Living Tombstone made more than 1 song.

EDIT: Fixed the video.

I'm working on a second song (which I'm actually more proud of than my other one).

I'm really hoping this qualifies as 'hard'. Because I really want in on this event, even if I can't go to bronycon this summer. Most of my stuff gets pathetic numbers of views...

Quick question, are collaborations allowed on Balloon Party? I wanted to mix an epic orchestra with dubstep since my friend Liquid Cobalt is capable of making amazing dubstep :D

I may not be amazing at music production (I've only been at it for close to 5 months) but I do feel like this can be made better. First off I really like the tune of it in the beginning! It gives off a rather ominous mood (Reminds me of Portal) :D However I do feel like the wub portion of the song could use a little more work and the higher pitched voice samples feel like they were just slapped in there (Like the one at 1.34). This does qualify as hard, but you can DEFINITELY make it harder! Sure you could make someones heart beat slightly faster, but I want my blood pressure to sky rocket! :D Impressive work! Keep at it friend! c:

I spent about 3 hours on this song, I know I can make it better. Thanks very much for the quick feedback. I will take your suggestions and work on this until it is epic enough for Balloon Party!
