Rainbow & Rooted: Four's Fall Down

I would just like to preface this by saying that this is just my opinion, and by no means am I implying that other people won't like the album or that others shouldn't buy it. I think everyone should make their own opinions and follow that. Anyways, after my first listen through of the album, I've got to say: I'm a little disappointed. Really only a few songs out of all of these catch my eye (ear?). I think instead of having 55 songs they should have just picked the truly best ones (maybe 20 or 30 at the most). Also, I feel like (and I may be completely wrong on this, but this is just my impression) along with having good songs they wanted to have a wide variety of genres and not focus on one, which may have forced them to pick songs in other genres that might not have been top-quality. They should have just picked only the best songs, never mind the genre.
Either way, those are just my thoughts after an initial listen. Who's to say what I'll think after a couple more?

Well Balloon Party had the After Party. EQD has MOTD. I don't see why there shouldn't be a second comp for 21-40% best that didn't make it...Curious to see if cfry or anyone else will make an After Party comp as it sounds like there would be a good reason for one....after all these comps don't necessarily always represent everyone and every style and can miss out on some gems. Hopefully they will say shortly so people don't publically publish something they'd want to resubmit for that....

Glad they got this release out, sure they have a lot of work ahead for getting funds to people in time for trips. Congrats to those who made it as there's a LOT of fresh new faces on this comp.

I think with all these good songs that didn't get in, there really should be an after party sort of thing. I mean, it doesn't hurt anyone, and would make more money for all the musicians who want to get to BronyCon.

A lot of the songs don't actually sound like drum and bass to me, they sound really glitchy, rock (or some guitar and drum genre of sorts), and an occasion scattered house song. Very few dubstep or anything else. I'm surprised. A few of the songs didn't really sound like they belonged on the album 100%, but perhaps that's just my opinion.

Yeah same. I'm kind of pleasantly surprised by the genre diversity so far (I'm only up to track 18 though)

Well, it was an open-genre album like always, but yeah, I see what you mean. Just seems like some of them aren't "fast and stylish" like they said it should be. Still good songs, though
