Ok, I'll have to get started with this.

I'm attempting to make an IDM/ambient track as a pony parody of aphex twin, it's not really going well.

Recording final Changeling Boogie vocals this week and/or next. Life keeps getting in the way of this being done in a timely fashion. ><

Well, people seemed to like my dubstep (as long as it doesn't appear in Pinakmena Party). So I think I'll just make more dubstep until I get even better at it.

I'm on the fence about Avenged Sevenfold, actually. Most of their stuff I think is just okay, although I must say that Little Piece of Heaven is a bloody MASTERPIECE. Also, I am not familiar with the song titles you mentioned, so maybe I'll give them a listen.

On another note, you should have heard my engineer laughing when I was recording vocals. "Dude, did you just say 'silly filly?'" So good.

I had another crazy idea that just might work.

Breakcore + drum and bass + dubstep

Why add DnB? Because authentic breakcore irrates me. I hate that distorted kick drum; it sounds sloppy and ruins the mix. I perfer using percussion that actually sounds like percussion. And I wanted to use 180 bpm on a song.

Essentially, I'm going for a Foozogz style sound with some added wubs, yois, industrial sound effects, and transformers noises.

This is going to be a fucking mess. I know drumstep has been done, but how do you get wubs over a glitchy mess of snares? This is probably going to be the hardest thing I've ever attempted (except for a guitar cover of Dream Theater). And mixing is going to be a complete disaster.

If I fuck up, I'll just make it drumstep at 180 bpm. That's my backup plan.

I was thinking of useing "Trixies funhouse" and makeing some sort of dark, high energy Hardcore/Breakebeat/Dubstep (havent fully worked it out yet). But its not exactly the avarage gore fic

It might sound REALLY great. Just try it, I'm doing something like this too.

Seems cool, but here's how I plan to do this:

Bass will be purely dubstep. Megatron Vomit style dubstep. Wobble bass, yois, transformers sounds, robotic noise... All that good stuff.

I'll have it seem like it's going to be mostly drumstep. Then suddenly a huge buildup, followed huge ass break with snares everywhere. And glitchy noises. Buildup will probably be 16 bars long starting after the normal drumstep drop (bpm is 180). The buildup itself will be styled in a manner similar to Existence VIP by Excision and Downlink. With some more high end and transforming robotic noise.

I bet people will be good and freaked out when the drop has a buildup in it. They'll probably be like, "What the fuck? The drop already happened." Then they get slammed with a crazy break.

Concerning the melodic aspects, I have two options for myself: make a dark melody that is consistent throughout the entire song, or make my song bipolar (happy melody, and then brutal drop that sounds evil as hell). I'll probably go for the dark melody idea so my song can sound better, and more professional (it will sound like I knew what I was doing).

I think I want to do a song inspired by Cherilee's Garden, but I don't think what I want to make would fit that well. (I wanna make Darkstep) Oh well! I'll find a way!
