I feel like we should cap it around the number that you guys had for TLK1 (~20-25?), which makes for a tighter team that can give each other good feedback when the time comes and eliminates the need for quality control and these newer/less appreciated artists worrying too much about how good their songs are and more about the effort being put into it.

Just my two cents. We can always do what you guys did to people who came late in the last album, which is put them onto the next TLK. I think that makes sense, no?

I agree. There are very, very few people who are going to listen to a 30+ track album, let alone look up all of the artists that they enjoy from the album. There should be a cutoff point around the 20-25 mark to ensure that everyone gets decent exposure. Plus, if everyone is going to be on this album, who's going to be left to participate on the next Lesser Knowns album?

By the way, the Bandcamp page for the first album says that the album costs $7 Canada. If the album's free download credits are up, at least make the price as low as possible. This isn't supposed to be a profitable album.

okay, so I just had a good chat with some of the good people on the TLK2 Skype chat. They proposed that because there are a good number of people on the album, some people may be overlooked, as well as a number of the tracks.

The best idea we had to rectify the issue was to release this album in two halves, TLK2 and TLK3, or perhaps two different editions of TLK2. The albums were proposed to be about half of the musicians each, and release a week apart from each other, on the 10th and 17th of August. As forwhich artist go on which half, a few ideas were proposed, and this is still in the idea phase.

Any thoughts?

I honestly don't like the idea of splitting the album in half. There are a few reasons that come into my mind right now, so if you want to know my personal opinion hit me up on skype.

Yeah, I was not aware of this Skype chat either.

Still, I agree it should be capped off or something. It'll expedite things when everything starts piecing together (The critique period). Plus those that wanted to be here can be in the next TLK, assuming there is another one.

Maybe pick two types (for example, one for calmer music, one for upbeat music - though you'll have to pick something that splits close to half the submitted music). Just make sure 'bias' doesn't decide which music goes in each.

However, this is the project with the closest due date for me, so I need to know what's going to happen soon.

Work in progress, maybe??

Idk, This is a pretty bad recording. Only did it once, so the singing is terrible, but I really want to know how these new chords sound with it. What do you guys think?

I would like to join, especially after having to drop out of the last one, partially due to school and post-school stuff and summer swim team etc.
I have until Friday to officially sign up? Alright. I'll see what I can do.

That would be easy! It already sounds pretty damn awesome if you ask me- wouldn't be a big repair job in the least. Where do I get the uncompressed WAV or AIFF (24-bit if it exists)? I can do that for you by the end of the week, much less 'by next bronycon' :D

Well, this is a typical club mix, and it would require something like the palooza from bronycon to be used to its full potential.

And I believe I have a 32-bit .wav on my mediafire account. I could render it once again to lower bitrate if you want.

So guys, back on topic.

Are we gonna split the album into two smaller releases or not? Or shall I try to conduct a mass-vote like old times?

I'd say go for a single album. There has to be at least a bit of quality control. Plus the interest seems to have reached its peak.

Well, we've got 40 artists, and if we do have one big album, I would like to see it have a maximum of 30 tracks. If we do two smaller releases, we wouldn't have to worry about excluding anyone, but the releases might get less exposure.

I say we exclude some artists somehow, and have them participate in the next Lesser Knowns album. Whether that be quality control, join date, or another factor, I don't know.

I agree 40 tracks is far too big an album, I would strongly suggest splitting it in two and releasing them a few weeks apart.
