Hey so, Las Pegasus Unicon sucked, so I hear. Basically guests ended up paying a bunch of extra money because the staff broke and budgeting failed-- that's what I understand.

clearly I'm not super educated here.

But, they're doing donations and auctions and stuff to raise money for the VAs and Artists and Panellists and Musicians who got jipped here, http://www.laspegassist.com/ and I thought:

Wait, MLR is always, constantly doing "charity" stuff. Balloon Party was to move some of our idols to a con. What if we did an album to help our idols recover from a con?

it would be nice to have a theme, deadline and some support from equestria daily (ask seth to give you a post or two about an album that brony musicians are making to show support and solidarity with people hurt by LPU )

There's a lot of information and charity auctions on that website so if anyone wants to donate that's already set up. I'm more curious on how the musicians were impacted as i saw a brief tumblr post on the subject this week. Since there were quite a few notable musicians who were set to perform allegendly impacted (how were they?) it would make a lot of sense for those big names to pull a few tracks together for an album that reclaim any losses and we could maybe patch on a few tracks to round it out. Having an mlr organized album w/o consulting any of the known musicians impacted seems well intended but not likely to do much. This site http://www.ponyvillelive.com/ is supposed to have a list of the musicians impacted but i can't get it to it from work so I'd like to know what musicians were impacted and if they have something in the works yet or not.

mcmiag said something about it being weird for them to do a fundraiser for themselves. It'd seem like them begging for money, or expecting someone else to pay for them, rather than other people donating their services. I'm glad to consult the musicians (or to have them consulted), but Idfk what to consult them about. I'm just checking interest.
I'd kind of like to do something for other guests, most importantly, for VAs and Writers. But I don't know who is taken care of at this point and who isn't. What I'd really like is for whatever funds are raised to be handed off to someone else to redistribute.

Honestly if this batch of musicians put out an album to recoup their losses (again I don't know WHAT their losses ARE. Were they supposed to be comped and had to pay for their rooms?) they'd likely have something that listeners would want to hear and would pay for (and an immediate EQD spotlight). I'm not sure why they would feel weird about that when i feel it's weirder for US to put together an album for THEM (when most in the brony community likely wouldn't know who we are or care to necessarily hear it!). I guess we can send donations through the link supplied if we want to assist everyone in general, i guess that may go to the artists too i hope if they were (were they?) impacted.
