Something with deep house/future garage/chill glitch hop; no one's ever done that as far as I know (Save for Cherax)

That's a bit close to 'chill' already though. :/

Kitten spectrum.

We'll all sample kittens meowing and turn those into sounds through resampling.

Better go for a theme rather than a set genre.
Random idea:

Soft Spectrum III: Armorgeddon

Armor, armageddon, yanno. Wordplay. Idk, I try.
I imagine a big, impressive final battle. And since this is Soft Spectrum, I add the armor for a decrease in violence.

Silent Spectrum tho

John Cage - The album.

How about like something solely acoustic? Like, idk how many people would participate, but Im not sure if I've seen a acoustic only album in Duh Fandum yet.

Acoustic could be difficult as I'm sure a lot of us don't have the money for software let alone decent recording hardware or physical instruments.

Facade, I understand that criticism isn't oft fun to hear - but realize that not a single entry escaped the maw of our negative commentary. The point of our crits is for the entrants to recognize their shortcomings and improve themselves, not to utterly give up. We accepted less than half of the songs. Since I started SS1, Soft Spectrum has been about giving constructive criticism to everyone.

If you see yourself as being "laughed" out of this album, you couldn't be farther from the truth. Certain elements detracted from all of the songs - but they didn't destroy them. Ultimately, the musicians with the most talent were chosen... But wait, doesn't that seems a little harsh? Well... I don't define talent as innate. Talent is a learned ability in my eyes, formed from practice and enthusiasm. Everyone who submitted tracks has enthusiasm, but sometimes they lack the practise that makes a good song.

Those who do have practise didn't instantly get to that skill level - they too went through horrible critiques and moments where they wanted to quit music altogether because it seemed overwhelming. But in order to better yourself as a musician, you have to be able to take a critique and improve instead of giving up.

Everyone has the potential, but only some have the endurance. Identify with the latter - you can.

I underestimated Soft Spectrum though, knowing next to nothing about stereo fields for example :P

Facade, trying advice once will not give you everything you need to improve. Music requires patience.
It's obvious that you want to get better, so how exactly will it go over if you give up and still want to improve?

Product placement post!

To anyone here who liked my track or the sounds in it, it was almost entirely produced with iZotope's IRIS soft synth. Everything but the drums, a quiet noisy saw wave, and the sub bass was IRIS. The demo version in fact! If you want to make a sort of ambient, get IRIS. I won't tell you what it's all about or anything, just watch some YouTube videos if you are interested, it's at the top of my software to buy list (I have physical lists for these things  ) it's so good.
