Record your own acoustic set for the internet!

Postby Cherax » 20 Oct 2013 07:28

A brief history: last month, I made a video of myself playing some pony songs, both covers and originals, acoustically in my backyard. It was super fun! This month, Le Soldat Pony made a video of himself playing some pony songs, both covers and originals, in front of some books. It's awesome!, and it got me thinking: just how many people can I persuade to hop on board with this potential trend? So, a call to arms was put out, which I am here extending to the fine people of MLR.

There are no rules, and there is no deadline. Just record yourself playing some pony songs, be they your own, or covers of ones you really like, on any instrument you like, and upload it to Youtube. That's all! I'll try to organise any / all of them in a playlist, so please message me here or on YT if you do this.

Have fun~! ヽ(*・ω・)ノ♪

Well, it's supposed to be an acoustic performance - but I'm kinda intrigued to see what you had in mind...

Would a 30 mim set be too much? I'm worried about the awkwardness between songs.

Haha, not quite. While that is a performance, I'm looking for the kind that you might see a front(wo)man do at an acoustic solo show. You can imagine how drum covers wouldn't make much sense in that context. (But hey, if you've been meaning to do one, you should still do one on your own time!)

PYR3LIGHT wrote:Would a 30 mim set be too much? I'm worried about the awkwardness between songs.

Soldat and I both had a lot of awkwardness between songs, but that's half the fun! Do as much as you'd like - maybe five hours would be pushing it, but 30m would be fine.
