Mr. Bigglesworth wrote:Pokemon Blue - Even though I really dislike pokemon as it is nowadays, I used to love it. But to be honest it's just utter shit now.

Have you played them? Black and White had a legitimately great storyline (and let's face it the storylines of the original two or three generations are pretty stupid) and fantastic music. And don't even bother mentioning the "fact" that they're "running out of ideas for pokemon designs". Look back at Gen 1's designs. A rock with arms? A rock snake? A mime? A pokeball as a pokemon? A seal (two, actually)? A rat? A pigeon? Gen 1 wasn't particularly creative.

Anyway, I enjoy both multiplayer and single player games, and I play online with my friends fairly often (well, I used to; don't really have much time anymore). So now I'm going to use this as an excuse to rundown some games. By "some" I mean about 20.

Fable 2 - good fun, but it gets a bit boring towards the end. Final boss was a disappointment (I didn't actually realize I could kill him and just sat there until Reaver killed him)

Skyrim - Hugely superior to Oblivion in general. Fun game, but frustrating on higher difficulties.

Oblivion - First real RPG style game I played as a kid (11-12 years old or so), loved it. Still haven't found all the things in the game. Lost my copy recently 3:

Antichamber - The single best puzzle game I have ever played. Overpriced, admittedly, but well worth it.

Super Mario World/SMW 2: Yoshi's Island - The games that made me have such a boner for secrets in games. Also two of the few games I 100%'d without a guide.

Metroid Fusion - In my opinion the best Metroid game out there. Prime (the first one) comes close second.

Super Mario Sunshine - The game that made me love platformers. Also the first console game I ever played (before that I had a Gameboy (original, not color) and then a Gameboy Advance).

Fallout 3 - Better than New Vegas. Love the atmosphere and gameplay, and I still haven't explored all of the locations, not to mention the DLC which I still haven't played.

TLoZ: Link to the Past - My favorite 2D Zelda game (favorite 3D one is a tie between Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, and Ocarina of Time for the nostalgia value). I like the GBA version better because of the addition of the Palace of the Four Swords (which I had to glitch into as I didn't have an action replay). I loved doing this awesome glitch where you use the Magic Mirror in a dungeon (Thieves' Town in the Dark World is best) right after jumping in the air, and if you get it just right (pretty tough timing honestly) you would be able to dash at a wall and fall through the floor by running into a wall. Then you could head to pretty much any indoor area in the game by moving beyond the normal boundaries. I managed to avoid the few rooms that stop you from moving and force you to use the mirror and managed to get into the Four Swords Palace. Mostly I liked to go around and combine palettes to see what weird enemy colorations I could get.

^holy shit big entry

Yep :3

Protip: Don't use the life pot until the end of the dungeon or into the Ballos fight. Try to get to the safe room without taking any damage as well, so you start off with full health. The main place that I find to be a bitch is that first long hallway with all the falling blocks. As long as I've played Cave Story I have never devised a proper strategy for that room other than run like hell.

I think I've gotten to Ballos once or twice without using the life pot. Anyway, getting to the safe room without taking any damage is easier said than done. I've gotten pretty good at dodging the blocks and I can get through most of the thing without much damage, it's just the stupid angels near the end and the fight with the smasher block.

But for now (I'm guessing not, but) does anybody here have Xbox Live? (My current PC is too sucky for PC gaming.)

If so, go ahead and add me at Zzzzonk3d. :3

So, like the WiiWare version (that sucks ass). The graphics are horrible and why would you want to change the music.

ganondox wrote:Speaking of Cave Story, I've been stuck at the super secret final dungeon forever. I can get to the second form of Balos, but it's just so frustrating to have to redo that damn dungeon every single time.

Well, you gotta train a bit to not get any damage during Ballos's first and second form. In his first form, you just gotta have quite some distance when he strikes down again (and if you have the spur, have it charge max (spur is the best weapon you can have)).
Second form is easy with spur.
Just boost under him thrice (or twice the first go), jump on his eye quickly, and shoot spur at max. Shoot some more, jump off, repeat until dead.
Third form isn't that hard, you just gotta close the eyes.
Stand inbetween eyes when they roll over the floor, don't get hit by falling skulls when he rolls on cealing, and shoot like hell at the eyes.

Fourth form though... Well, good luck, I usually just rampage. Be sure to use your rockets here (get them at least level 2).

I usually beat Heavy Press without getting damage :3

I found mari0 to be rather bland. Like, I like portal and I like mario, so you'd expect it to be good, but you dont really need a portal gun in mario, the orginal levels arent designed for it, so for the most part, you're just better off not using the portals, and I feel the puzzlequality isnt as fun when it isn't in the fps format.

Didn't really feel like a good mix for me, although being wellmade and all. Also am looking forward to the multiplayer patch, simply because mario multiplayer.

FPS format... Wat?

Anyways, I must have the multiplayer too :P
And true, Mari0 isn't their best, but it sure is their most famous work.

Dweeb!

First Person Shooter. Portal is in that format with the perspective and all.

Right xD I thought of the other FPS and was like "what you mean", I gets nao.
Yea it would've been cool if Mari0 was in FPS format :P
