Help w/ Guitar for a collab/parody song

Postby Kenny Tweek » 01 Mar 2014 19:01

Does anyone there could help me recording guitars to a collab that i'm doing with Cyril the Wolf? My guitar's nut broke up before I record anything... :v

So, the song. It is a parody of The Metal (By Tenacious D), which is pretty easy to find tutorials and tabs to.

Here is the song, in case you don't know it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR7U1HIhxfA

And here is the best tutorials you can find, because who teaches is Tenacious D guitarrist, John Konesky:
Part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCh8s5ws9d8
Part 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7A1ulJqA6-0
Part 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAS0KHtz2y8

Pretty please? :333
Tell me, what's that thing called "talent"? Do you really think you born with it? Or do you think you learn it with time and dedication?

So yeah, me around the internet.

I can try, I know the metal rather well (aside for the acoustic part which is hard but beautiful) but I'm trying to fix my recording set up.

But it should be working so I'll give it a try with my own song I'm collabing on and if it sounds good, I'm your guitarist. :)

New discovery: Mandopony's Vinyl Scratch Battle Theme on guitar... if I can upload it, I just may be the first!

I can't thank you enough! xD
Also, the acoustic part is actually not acoustic, he play with the eletric guitar as well... But yeah, it's pretty hard to play, except for the chords, they are pretty easy. :P

I would be happy to help, but I see the spot's been filled. Still, if there's something you need, let me know.

Well, since Blitz apparently can't play the bridge part, maybe you could do it... ? :3

Just putting this out there, I would rather do the whole song with one person, but if someone else has the whole song down, you can carry it on. Just putting it out there so we don't have to wait forever.

Well, I also kind of need the drums and bass, 'cause the guy who will make the drums is completely irresponsible and didn't even started. In 1 month. And the bass is specially because I have to learn it... So, if some of you guys play (or can do digitally) drums or bass, it would be totally awesome. :3
Just tell me if any of you want to do one of them, and I guess the first who finish the guitar will have it on the song... (It's better than have to choose... :I)

I can both play, and do the Bass Guitar part digitally, if that helps. I'm hopeless with playing drums, or digitizing them  , But I could have a shot.

So just an update, I'm straining myself to learn the bridge to the song, but I AM making a drum track for it. Hoping that helps.

Okay, I've got the drums midi'd out and a little different than the recordings I think, but it's there and ready for recording, all we need to worry about is the bridge and recording bass and guitar. :-)

I was going to PM you, but whatever. I fixed my guitar this week, tho I only know how to play the main riff and some parts of the last riffs... But I can do the bridge (even if not exactly the same way as the original).
So, just tell me if you still want to take part at this project and let's start to work! :3 (I don't play drums and would take months to do it digitally, and I would have to do the bass digitally too, so if anyone still can do it... :I)

Awesome! c:
When you do it, PM me or add me on Skype, what you prefer, I'll see if I can get the guitar done, just need to learn the riffs at the end of the song... :3
