The Monstercat EDMStudio sample pack is only about 20% useable in my opinion.

It has some good drums that I'll definitely use and loads of melody and bass loops that I'll never use.

Some of the drums are pretty shit too, mind you.

I don't know if this was posted, but I stumbled upon some hardstyle samples on sound cloud.

link

They are supposed to be free, but I have yet to find a download link.

You mean the EDM Studio Collection released a while ago by Monstercat? That's already up, I believe, and you wouldn't need to upload it even if it wasn't, considering it's free and still up.

No, I meant that I have a Facebook account (using fake information) that I use for stuff like this where you have to like a Facebook page to download something. I don't use Facebook though.

MakO released a couple of Neurofunk/Drum and Bass sample packs a while ago. They've got some good snares, kicks and a few good breaks for you to slice. Go nuts :3
You usually need a Facebook account for these, but because I'm so nice, I've put them onto Mediafire for you

Freesound is my favorite spot to go sample hunting. It's got the same feel of sorting though hours of old cartoon sound effects to find the perfect slide whistle effect. You find so much random crap, but it's all really inspiring. The field recordings are GREAT.

Agreed. It's a great source of obscure samples! I've actually found bloopers from radio shows on it, along with drum breaks and water tunnel samples.

As much as I'd like to make a new topic for this, I'll restrain myself.

INTRODUCING: THE ROLAND HUMAN RHYTHM COMPOSER R-8 SAMPLE PACK

COMPILED BY ERIK COCHRAN

Earlier today, I found an old drum machine lying around, so I plugged it in and powered it up. It worked, so I sampled all the kits that were built in. These things go on eBay for around $300 USD, so I thought if I gave the samples to people, it’d be a pretty rad deal.
The R-8 has been used by artists such as Orbital, Underworld, Jimmy Edgar, Autechre, 808 Slate, Dave Holmes, Fluke, Human League, The Shamen, and, of course, myself.
The snares and hats in this pack are wonderful, and Kit E contains some rad uplifters and atmospheric effects that I’m gonna use the hell out of. The kicks are alright for layering.

Notice: These samples are not cleared by Roland Corporation. Use at your own risk

These samples are available in lossless .wav format, and as a Reason ReFill. If you really want to be a dear, donate on PayPal to [email protected] !!

-Roland-

These are the same sounds used by the default Windows MIDI - Windows's MIDI instruments are all based in the Roland Sound Canvas, which apparently uses very similar, if not the same samples as that drum machine.

I've always loved the sound of these drums though - way more than any attempt at "realistic" MIDI drums - and I don't think I've heard kit E before. It's probably the Sound FX Kit, which I've never used. :P Nice pack.

Here's a .sf2 soundfont with all SC instruments and drumkits - I use it for MIDI on Linux.
