How does one Breakcore?

Postby Pix31 » 26 Jan 2013 01:29

I'm not saying that I don't know the basics and I do have a very good understanding. My main problem is filling up the background properly and getting the drums to match the BPM. Does anyone know anything about putting together the breaks properly without a massive amount of effects added on? I guess this also counts for EQing as well.

You mean the way it's titled?
Or asking for help with genres?

Hopefully this video helps! Anyways, besides this video, there are plenty of other videos out there. Hm, as for drums, I think you can use FL's slicer thingy to slice apart a regular drum loop and then control the drums length and cutoff and make the drum loops. Also, how is it that hard to get a drum beat in breakcore to match the tempo? I've never made breakcore so perhaps I don't know what I'm talking about, but I've never had problems with drums not being the same bpm >_>

Thanks itroitnyah! The problem I'm having is I work in 200+ bpm, and I guess I haven't found any breaks that work in such a high bpm. Though I learned how to time stretch them up so I should hopefully be good.

breaks are my usual style, im not sure what breakcore is but in breaks dull and phat are the key to the rhythm. and basslines are dominant.

Easy solution:

Don't work at 200. Lol, just try 175.

I've heard that Gross Beat is a cool plugin to use, but your daw prolly has a decent slicer in it already.

No dice, forever 200+ XD but I'll mess around and try to find a nice middle ground.
And Ya, I use Gross Beat though I'm going to look around for a better one.
