So my step dad is able to buy a Minibrute right now.

I know the bass station looks awesome, but this is something I know to be good from reviews and I can get it tonight.

So yeah. Minibrute it is I guess XD

not really, no.

So I won't really be able to work with it properly. I could probably get sound from the headphone out port though.

ok.

I'm aware that I'll need an audio (and probably midi) interface for this to work properly with my computer and whatnot. I'll start saving for those once I get a job.

Speaking of which I should really talk to my mum about that.

I'm kind of considering getting a Moog Minitaur instead of a Bass Station 2 but I'm not sure because the Minitaur doesn't have a keyboard... or maybe I could save up extra money and go for the Slim Phatty... even though that doesn't have a keyboard either it has a sequencer/arpeggiator in it.... decisions decisions

Slim phatty isn't too much more than the minitaur or bass station, just a few hundred. It will be much more capable than the others.

I'm loving my LP, I want to get a slim phatty (or two) for some awesome polyphony.

If a keyboard is that important then just get the bass station or maybe the minibrute.

The keyboard isn't too important to be it was just that I was going to possible also use the synth as a controller... but as you said the SP is gonna have a lot more capability
Also you saw that polyphony video too?

There are a few poly LP/SP videos, a SP would be more capable and will provide you a lot more uses ang longevity.

Wolfgang gartner is a huge LP fan, he has used it for many years and its still sits very close to him in his studio.

The one thing I love about the LP/SP is the stuff you can get it to do with just randomly changing the modulation settings and stuff... and of course the low end

Just going to throw this here too, the audio is obviously recorded by the camera so try to imagine a house shattering bass (I could literally here the decorative plates rattling in the room above my studio).

Do the right thing and get the Slim Phatty, or look at the used market in your hometown (and every other town within a 4 hour drive) and get something better for a cheap price.

There's my sales pitch..

Seeing as I just got the LP less than two weeks ago I have been to busy playing around with it to think much about wood handles. I will look into it in the future though.

Craigslist is pretty popular in vancouver (4 hours away but there's always good things int he used market) as well as many places in North America.

My local city has its own website thing that features news, information, classifieds, and ect. Most people use that over the other third party websites.

So I was looking and I found a place that sells refurbished synthesisers and a lot of them are vintage analogs... and I was looking and they have some good ones there just awaiting on the price list

As an edm producer, I am pretty ashamed that I have pretty much no idea how to use most synths :/

In princaple they're fairly simple. You just gotta learn your way around them, after that things start sounding better : P

I'm new to synths. How exactly do they work with DAWs, like FL Studio (the one I'm using now)?
