i was looking at the cloud generator vco but i noticed there's no individual osc controls...

if im looking to build a hardware cloud in the future(far future) should i just get enough vcos to make 16 oscs? or is the cloud generator worth it?

Get the original Cloud module. I used to have one that was very similar and it's very different to multiple vcos. It just has such a unique sound. I;m sure you can find schematics for one if you want to make one your self who knows

The original one is Synthesis Technology e632 I think

Now that there are some proper reviews and demos of the Bass Station II, I'm leaning towards that. It sounds so good *_*

Even the simple Initial saw patch sounds freakin' cool. And the distortion sounds awesome.


...oh and it does Acid sounds really well apparently. Acid sounds are my musical fetish.

i personally love it! it blends with my clouds so nicely its such a pleasure to use

the only fm synth I have any experience with is Fruity DX10.

I can actually get a decent squeally sound outta that.

I only use FM8 for the bass synth I have that's modelled from a 1990s Yamaha

There's a DX 10 in the studio I work in.

EDIT: I meant DX 7

Dunno what it's from but the patch is called strictly bass which is what it was called on the synth so that might help

Update: I may have to preorder the Bass Station 2. I'm also gonna need an audio/midi interface because of the analogue component of it.

You can probably get a good usb focusrite one

I've seen a few different kids of audio interfaces around Toowoomba.

However there are only 2 synths available in this town.
A Yamaha which you have to order and Microkorg.

micro korgs are so common i've used one once but only for a few minutes

the focusrite scarlett 2i2 seems like a decent enough interface
