I just realized that there are a lot of people here who don't have studio monitors which surprises me. I always hear how important they are for reference when you're switching between headphones and speakers for example. But they also summon problems for example when your room you're mixing in builds up bass frequencies for example. I thought about getting some but at this point i don't really see a reason why.

Oh well, now that i'm here. Things that i use:

Hardware:
- 200€ Toshiba notebook
- Lexicon Alpha USB Interface (meh)
- mega cheap 61 keys keyboard
- Fame Forum III electric guitar
- Peavey ValveKing 112 guitar combo amp
- Shure SM57 microphone
- AKG D660S microphone (not mine but he didn't want it back apparently :? )
- Yamaha something bass guitar (not mine, have to borrow it everytime : P)
- Philips SHP2500 headphones

Software:
- Guitar Pro 5
- Reaper
- other than that only free plugins

Okay, guess I should do this.

Hardware:
PC (i7 2600k, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD RAID1)
Hot Topic Rainbow Dash headphones (aw yiss)
Some Logitech speakers, they are far from flat, but have really nice sub bass
Numark Mixtrack Pro
Somson C01U condenser microphone
(an Akai APC40 is on it's way, but it's currently stuck in UK customs)

Software:
Ableton Live Suite
Sylenth 1
God knows how many free sample packs (I have a habit of downloading every one of them ever)
More free VSTs than I can count (my favourite being DSK Overture, best free orchestral VST out there)
Audacity (so useful for chopping up waveforms).

ok. TIME FOR MY TURN BECAUSE FUCKS. I'm...like very budgeted..

Already have these things down below shut the fuck up and stop reading this sentence

Hardware:
- Horrible Acer Laptop that has never had any maintenance
- M-Audio Keystudio (midi controller) it's an ok controller. Has keys, push em and they work. all I really need.
- Sennheiser HD 280 pro headphones. Rather nice, very comfy and good sound quality.
- a chair. For my ass to be friends with.

Software
- FL Studio 10 (DAW) most of my stuff is done there
- Protools LE. I use this occasionally for piano when I'm bored.
- Massive. I RELY ON THIS TOO MUCH BUT HELL, IT'S A DECENT SYNTH

Freeware
- Dblue glitch. Mostly use this for tapestops, other than that, kinda useless
- MDA effects: TOO MANY TO NAME OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD.
- Camel Crusher. Good lil compressor.
- TB peach. CHAPTUNZ
- FL Standard VST's
- a bunch of other shit

Samples
- Vengeance Essential Club 4. Good sound pack, that is when you find the samples you like. Some of them suck assballz or are basically cheating with premade melody loops.
- a bunch of samples I downloaded from boyinaband.com. Some good kicks, a few good snares and some hats that are usable. KEEP IN MIND THAT IS BETWEEN 9 PACKS
- Disko Uncle Kicks. a few decent kicks. that is all.

STUFF I WANNA GET

- NEW FUCKING COMPUTER. SOOOOOOON.
- Some turntables (lookin' at Numarks)
- Monitor Speakers (my step dad may be able to sell me some for cheap)
- Sylenth1
- KOMPLETE 7 (my step dad to the rescue once more)
- MOAR SAMPLEZ
- Bitspeak BECAUSE I GET SUPER HARD FOR VOCODING

And that's about it :3
I'm not here anymore, but if you want you can still just call me Mr. BigBagelBoggle!

bleh
Hardware:
-Acer laptop of some kind. It works really well with Reason because Reason uses so little CPU.
-Wireless mouse (IMPORTANT)
-Alesis Q49 Midi keyboard
-Guitar Hero USB Mic (for dramatic readings)
-Some shitty earbuds because my decent ones got stolen :/

Software:
-Reason 5 (going to upgrade to 6.5 around Christmas)
-FL Studio 10 (used for vocals and to pre-process some drums)
-A bunch of VSTs that I never use

Samples:
-Vengeance Clubsounds 3 & 4 (some good samples)
-Vengeance Essential House 1 & 2 (not as good as Clubsounds IMO)
-A bunch of the boyinaband packs (good for beginners)
-The Machine 1-4 (a bunch of free sample kits from a bunch of drum machines)
-Xfer (great pack)
-A metric fuckton of samples from random places on the net

Stuff I Want:
-Some good headphones (getting them soon)
-A subwoofer (maybe)

-Akai MPC-20

Software:
-Ableton Live 8.3.4
-Live Suite :3

Stuff I want:
-Monitor Speakers

Haven't mixed anything yet with mine. Tried them out a little bit and at first they sounded very odd compared to my old ones but definitely clearer. It's good i still have my old ones though. Listening to music with these is somehow...easier. Hard to describe.
