Proof that you don't need any VSTs to make dubstep.
Thoughts?

I'm confused. You mean you just used samples? I like what you got there.

No, I didn't use VSTs. The sounds are all mine (cept the drums, obviously they're sampled).

Did you resample that at all?
it's a pretty simple sounding reese. Just a bit more, oh I don't know... transparent, maybe? Less distorted.

I like it, but to me some of the sounds don't seem to mesh with the song well. Also, I can't hear much sub-bass during the drops(but that might just be me)

Basically just saw waves with shitloads of filtering and distortion

edit: sounds really muffled now that i listen to it,
i guess it would sound cool layered with a lead?

This is my first real attempt at creating a bass drop, so I could really use some critique.

Also, I'm pretty sure SoundCloud lowered the quality.

(At least in terms of sound design and sequencing) My drops just sound really weird. I have trouble making that normal dubstep sound with like 7 different synths in the drop. I usually just pick 3-4 I like and screw around with their sequencing. If you guys like it, then that's good cause it means I don't have to do anything, but if it sounds strange/awkward/bad, then plz tell me.
