It has an admittedly small demographic, it's the middle of the week, there's no events going on, and people are actively engaged more in the MLR chats than the forums.

You don't need to worry about the community dying. It just has slow days. Expect it to explode when we get these changes out the door.

I have to say that the activity in the Skype chats is becoming less and less as well.

I think the problems with the Skypechats are far more complex and varied than that, but at the risk of starting some silly argument or another, I'll withhold my thoughts on that.

I can't speak for everpony, but I just don't have the time for community at the moment. I have my end of session exams over the next 3 weeks, and between that and actual music work, I don't have time to chill in skype.

I'm trying to stay active and helpful on the forums in lieu of that. MLR.com is a hotkey app on my iPod :P

I'm really keen on this changes though Makkon. N.A.C.P mentioned a couple in a skype discussion a week or so ago, and I'm chomping at the bit to see them in action :D

Facade, I'll never stop calling you "petfood" ever, It's just too cute :3.

On the topic: Expect this site to be active on holidays, and when we actually see the completed site reformation expect us to blow up.

btw, Am I really who I think I am? A spambot? Do I actually bring anything to the discussion? because my post count is really strange.

This.

The community isn't dying, it's just coming up to that time of year when everyone has to knuckle down and get things like exams and such done!

I know many people have some form of exam coming up after chatting on Skype!

And I have exams, assignments and I'm applying for Honours, so that'll chew up some time too!

We're all just busy, give it some time and we'll all come flocking back for R&R!

The people who've been here awhile are still here. I wouldn't say it's dying or anything. A forum can be pretty silent when there's not much going on. Chat has been as talkative as every, I'd say.

We'll probably see a lot more excitement once some of these changes start taking place too.

Yeah Petfood, it's not dying, just... Insanely inactive right now. Don't worry, after my next song, everypony will be so inspired that they will have no choice but to write music 24/7. ;P

It's not even that. Don't you people know how to click on the "View Active Topics" button? There are several posts an hour in all kinds of threads! I seriously don't understand where this whole concern is even coming from =P

The community will die out after FiM is no longer produced. We'll keep going for a time, but eventually we will all run out of inspiration, and our audience will lose interest. By that time we would have probably found something else to move onto anyway.

We're not even a quarter of the way into season 2, and they're producing a season 3. We've got a while to go yet.

If you want to help boost activity, go up and click that "View unanswered posts" button on the top-left and give everypony some love. Or go into the WIP/completed sections and comment!

I can picture this site being a great notable forum for music production even outside the mlp audience. I think once we attract more active users this site will be the bee's knees, it's too good to die.

I don't think we need more active users per say. We have a tonne of new users at the moment.

I think what we need (and bartekko mentioned this elsewhere) is a conscious effort to be active IN OTHER PEOPLES AFFAIRS. We have lots of active threads that aren't really related to music or peoples compositions (how did you become a brony etc), but not often do we get into peoples actual music. I don't know how to make this happen other than what we're doing at the moment.

Notice that i'm commenting on nearly every post on the forums at the moment <_< that's probably excessive.
