Should I get a new laptop?

Postby Mesogears » 04 Feb 2013 15:36

About two months ago, I sent my HP laptop in for repair after it repeatedly showed this on startup. I still had warranty, so they replaced the hard drive and motherboard.

And now it's happening again. After 2 MONTHS.

Is my computer shot, or can it be saved? Because if this is gonna happen every few months, I don't even want it anymore.

Well, I just now realized my BIOS was out of date. Updated that thing and it works for now at least.

But seriously, if that screen pops up again I'm probably getting a new laptop.

The real question is, is it worth repairing it constantly over and over again? Or would it be more worth it just to buy a new one that you can probably trust won't break down (and if it does will be covered under a new warranty).

Is the laptop bad by any means? If not, and if it is still covered under warranty if it happens again then you really shouldn't worry imo.

It's actually not bad at all; it runs fine. That's the sad part. Every time it does that, though, it doesn't affect my files, since I still have access to them.

Also, I think I still have warranty.

Laptop? Ew. Just get a desktop and save a ton of money. Or if you have to be portable get a tablet. At least they are stable. Mostly.
