I needed a brony-artist name and I wanted it to sound like my main artist name [which is Voodeedoo] so I combined them and WALLA!

I gained this nickname because as a kid it was kinda musketeery, I was fascinated by french musketeers back then, and by those like don kichot.

However as I grow up this nickname makes less and less sense to me. It's however pretty catchy, I think.

I might change my nickname in a year or so

I've been using this name since 2007-odd. I have no idea how I originally got it though.

Funny story actually:

It was my first few weeks at Uni. It was a...well, strange time because I'd been to High School for about two years since coming to Australia, so I'd made friends, but no real close ones...none of them were musical either, so we all went our seperate ways!
There was a welcome party for the freshers and it was fancy dress! I'd chatted to my fellow composers in the year and one of them suggested superheroes for us all as a bonding thing!
So that's what we did, the only ones I can remember were Captain Tonal and Flamenco Man, but I went as the evil villian, Dr Dissonance!
...aaaaand that's where it's from!

When I was but a wee lad, I played Runescape and RPed on the RuneScape forums. Many of the people I played with are still my friends, and are also bronies.

My screenname was inertia1 (I thought 'inertia' was a cool word. Yeah I was eleven...) Some faggot shortened it to Nerty, and it stuck.

So for the years since then, I went by Nerty on the internet. But I came to the conclusion that I didn't really like it, so I entered it and my first name (which is Thomas) into an anagram machine.

Senator Myth was one of the things that came up. I really liked it.

Some names that almost made the grade:

Toaster Hymn
Snotty Harem
Nasty Mother
Tarots Hymen

...Dr Dissonance's is the best story.

Jeffthestrider has always been my screen name, as far as I can tell, since like elementry school. Based of Aragon of course.

I eventually want to move over to Stars in Autumn. That name is a bit of word play.

Dr Dissonance, best story ever.

Odd story for me. The only redwall book I enjoyed (the rest were boring):
Image
It had a character named Mokkan. I was really young, and while trying to enter that name from memory into the new-game slot on a Halo demo at a video-game store, I didn't realize that I spelled it wrong. But it stuck.

Later I find that it was mentioned briefly in:
Image
used as a platform to hunt the lions from.

Been going by it ever since, never really had another alias.

Postby Versilaryan » 14 Oct 2011 22:06

Versilaryan came from a name generator, as Ver'yan. I filled out that apostrophe, used it for a couple RP characters, decided I liked the name too much, and stole it for myself.

Fast forward a few years. People were making alliterative names for themselves, and I couldn't think of something good that started with V. Someone there suggested "vafrous", which is an archaic word for "sly", so I stuck with it. How that got to Coyote is a little complicated. It started as Vafrous Versilaryan, which went to Vafrous Vulpix during that forum's neo-Pokemon-craze, then the Vafrous Vulpine, and then somehow ended up as Vafrous Coyote. 'Cause I guess, foxes are too mainstream.

Feelin is a usual Russian surname and also it means "eagle owl". This is how I was called in primary school, and funny enough I liked it and all what I have to do is to spell it English way. I doubt that those who used to call me Feelin even know that I'm still using it today.
However, my YouTube account has different login, jarvi1986, and it comes from Finnish word jarvi which means lake. Nothing special, I simply like Finnish.

Postby d.notive » 15 Oct 2011 17:32

The name I'm currently using, d.notive, is a band name I came up with, because, ironically, I couldn't name the band.

I was toying with the idea of taking words that began with the prefix "de", dropping the e, and making it d. something (seeing as the sound of the word wouldn't really change).

I had a long long list of words that had potential, until I arrived at d.note ... Now, I'm sure you immediately see the silly music pun there, as I did (someone else also pointed out the possibility of it signifying "Death Note").

I knew that would never do (not if I wanted to be taken seriously), so I kept soul searching, until I came upon the word, denotive.

I read the definition, and literally laughed out loud. Someone or something that is denotive has the capacity to name, or define other things. Seeing as I was utterly incapable of coming up with a band name, it seemed only fittingly ironic to name myself someone capable of naming things.

Hence, d.notive was born.
d.notive is Matt Larson & <other insert vocalist>

I started out as DJ Amiti for about 2 weeks (it's a sword in Fire Emblem), then realized that that wasn't a good idea, and changed it to DJ Xero for my little hands-up/trance phase, because I've always like the idea of zero, or nothing. I then realized that there was another DJ Xero and a band called Xero, so I had to come up with something else.
ArtAttack stuck with me, I liked the idea between beauty (art) and violence (attack)
