I just got the new Soundcloud and I think it's pretty awesome.

It's mostly UI stuff, but there's a few new features like the real time notifications and the new stats. Also, it doesn't stop playing music when you leave a page.

How do you get the new SoundCloud? I don't see the update button anywhere. Do you have to have a premium account?

Sounds like Soundcloud took some tips from Beatport. I wish I could try the new SoundCloud. But they don't like me.

I like the new design, but have no idea how to use it. I'm only good with some computer stuff. Apparently not Soundcloud. My main issue is that I cannot skip to certain sections on the songs or whatever I'm listening to. Probably because I haven't gotten used to it yet.

I like how I can leave the page and keep the song going. I can't seem to find any way of pausing it without going back to the song's page, though.

The little orange waveform bar on the top left will bring you back.

um... the repost was not in the original... this works much like retweeting another's tweet on Twitter.. and true but it is set out better now...

There are some other cool shortcuts too, such as Shift+right arrow key, which goes to the next song (which depends on which page the sound was on when you clicked it. If it was in your stream, it plays the next song in your stream. If you clicked play on an artist page, then it goes to the next song. If you clicked play in the Song Detail page, then it goes to the next "Related Track" (a feature which is kind of buggy - Related Tracks are usually chosen from the favorites of the track's author, regardless of whether they are truly related or not.)

I've had this thing for months, maybe since mid- to late-summer. The only reason I've had it for so long is because I found out somehow and visited the next.soundcloud.com page and signed up for the closed beta.




Oh, yeah, almost forgot. Sets are now set up with gapless playback (well, as gapless as your internet bandwidth will allow), and play between pages just like regular tracks.

I wuv it. It's pretty awesome. My biggest complaint would be that it doesn't show the total amount of downloads you have right on the statistics box as well as the amount of plays. That would be nice ._. But the full statistics view is pretty cool. Similar to bandcamp, but better, imo. I like the new song display. Although now I can see all of Veela's creepy ass cover art better. Lol. Kidding, Veela's awesome.

I haz the closed beta too.

I think it'll be pretty nice, once I get used to the interface. It seems shinier and less... static, I suppose. Also the comments not being in the way is a great feature. Other than that, I haven't really used it due to not being able to get on the interwebs much lately. I imagine the reposting songs would be nice though
