Why doesn't anyone make Trap music?

Postby XXDarkShadow79XX » 25 Sep 2012 19:03

I've noticed there's a severe lack of trap music in this fandom, despite the explosion in popularity recently? What's up with that? I mean, we have freaking UK Hardcore, but not trap? Why?

P.S. Just in case you're not familiar, THIS is trap:

Main reason is because it's drawing close similarities with RnB, which I don't have time or ears for. This is literally just noise to me at this point, and I don't see what the appeal is in Moombahton or this new Trap thing.

I'm not big on the moomba thing either, it's basically new style jungle Drum & Bass from what I can tell, just with a different name.

I don't know anything on Moomba (as I call it), but I've listened to one or two and that's what it seems like. Could easily be wrong though since I don't care for it.

Moombah=DnB? What? They're completely different.

And Lavender, the point is that it's kind of hip hop-RnB but with heavier bass/drops.

Well I'm pretty much done with this site (it wasn't about the April Fool's joke I actually loved that). If for some reason somebody wants to contact me or something (not like any of you even care lol):

I've heard of Moombahton but never heard anything from it (just mentioned by a friend of mine who's a DJ), and I've never heard of Trap. Here I'm thinking 'Trap' is something related to a male crossdressing and singing, looking nice and cute in public, making interesting noises here and there, and while we think this is a chick singing and dancing its actually a guy so....yeah trap music. Its totally not what I thought at first.

But one reason I think there's not much 'Trap' in the brony community is because its mood clashes a bit with the acapella and original source. Its like comparing ponies and black metal, just doesn't seem like it'd go all too well. But that's just my opinion. If trap is mostly sounds like this, I like what I hear but its not something I'd jump on producing.
I am Magical Rainbow Pegasus Pony and this is my music. Lets not fuck about. X3

Yeah, you're mostly likely not gonna hear any pony-related trap. It's just gonna end up being downright silly.

I don't listen to Soulja Boy's crap when he's rapping on top of it. Removing the vocals doesn't make it any more interesting to me.

Although moombahton with ponies would be funny.

Someone link another piece of Trap music, because that's the only one I've heard, no one links anything else.

I personally hate the living hell out of traditional rap/hip hop/RnB. But to me, trap is something different.

I see why people would like Moombah (I love it myself).

But this trap thing is a huge dissapointment to me in terms of EDM. It's like going back when dubstep just started and was extremely low quality.

I mean seriosuly? This type of music imo sounds just too easy to make. Are we regressing or something?

We are regressing if we're judging music genres on how "easy" we think they are to make.

You know what guys, I have a challenge. If trap is so "easy to make" or "ugly", then why don't you guys try and turn it into something new? Here, I've even found some 808 samples:

http://surachai.org/thedeepelement/tr808.html

We could have melodic or ambient trap; we have those for dubstep. Instead of just shooting this genre down we can turn it into something we can all appreciate! ;D

How about: I wasn't talking about you. And that's good you're spending that much time on a dubstep drop. People spend days and weeks on those things. No one said you can't spend that much ti-

Don't even say that dub step is hard to make.
Don't.
Even.
If you think that shit is hard to make...
I am experiencing a new hybrid of disappoint/rustled jimmies because of this bs.

Kyoga, if you want to make a dubstep hate thread, do it on your own time. I myself don't want to hear this whiny bullshit. If you don't like it and think it's talentless, good for you. Go talk to someone who actually gives two fucks.

This is a thread about trap music. Enough mention of dubstep. This thread is going to hell just like every other one involving a genre and someone's opinion.

My 2 bits on trap:

Not bad. I usually get bored easily by traditional hiphop or RnB. This seems like a way of making it more interesting to listen to. So I like it.

As for why people won't produce it:

Probably mood. Example: Haven't you noticed how a lot of the "dark" songs in this fandom don't really sound that dark at all? That's because they want the mood to fit the theme of the song.

Personally, I would like to see some bronies get really creative and start going all-out with their music instead of staying centric around one mood, style, sound, etc. In any genre, not just trap. There really isn't much in terms of death metal with ponies (btw, metalcore is not death metal)...

Thank you. Whilst I may have not said it so aggressively, I had to take a break from defending myself from this forum's bad habit of shooting things down in uncalled for manners.

Then they wonder why it's turning into shit.
