I'm not sold. I like the quality the industry is cranking out. Games are not closed to independent developers; look at Steam. We have Android, on tablets and phones. I don't need it for my TV as well; then again I'm not a console gamer. But yeah, nice idea, but I don't see this going anywhere.

Lol console gaming. I'll return to that pit of despair as soon as my computer bursts into flames and Sony personaly welds a ps3 controller to my palms. No thanks, I'll just stick with my sli'ed beast of a machine.

PC Gaming all the way, although anything that helps game companies get out of the limitations of production companies, I'm all for it.

I'm actually all for this thing. Getting a game on a console is pretty much impossible without publisher support. I've always been a bit miffed that 2D games have mostly been pushed aside to handhelds and various smart-y/tablet-y devices. Hopefully this could bring back 2D games to the tv.

Considering they made over $2m in less than a day, there's definitely demand for it. Let's just hope they have the manufacturing sorted out (though if you have the guts to promise 21000 consoles to ship, I think they do).

After taking a look at the thing's specs again, my position has never been more firm: No, this is a terrible POS.

It really depends on how much it costs. I really like the idea behind it, but something's gotta convince me to mitigate some of my gaming away from my computer. Aside from the fact that WASD movement pisses me off. Though, there's really nothing like gathering a bunch of your friends together and sitting around in front of a TV, gaming. You can't do that at all with a computer -- the closest you'll get is a bunch of people sitting in the same room on their own laptops. Not quite the same.

What I like the most, though, is their firm stance on an open platform. I've really grown to hate the "walled garden" philosophy that's been spreading since the iPhone became popular, and Microsoft and Sony's ridiculous attempts to stop people from doing what they want with consoles they spent money on? Even worse. This could be the Linux of game consoles, and I'd be really happy if it is.
