Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.
First off, the song that introduced me to rock/metal before I could even describe the instrumentation, much less the genre. Seriously, I was maybe 6 or 7 and was all like - "what instrument in an orchestra sounds like that?" and didn't find out for another 4 or 5 years what an electric guitar was.
Also, everything else by Crush 40.
And everything in Guitar Hero 1 and Guitar Hero Encore. But I'm not sure if those count.
And of course the entire orchestral Mario Galaxy soundtrack. The entire game was a work of art.
And that's just a small sampling of what I love videogame-wise!

Tubeyou You are the hero My Little Remix deserves, not the one it needs. So we’ll hunt you. Because you can take it. Because you’re not our hero. You’re a silent guardian of music, a watchful protector of songs. A doctor of dissonance. -Phillypu
I replayed the intro to Red dead revolver every time just to hear this song
Only Valve could make a healing class epic.

Spent a crazy amount of time with this awesome game in a number of playthroughs, mostly just exploring and doing optional quest lines rather than the main storyline. Good memories Will probably start it again sometime, I never actually played far into the two expansions.
EDIT: Hadn't gone through much of page 1 yet, so I didn't notice that Jeffthestrider is a man of such taste as well
But seriously, I should mention a website: OverClocked ReMix. I was hanging around there a year or two ago, but was never able to get a single thing accepted onto their site (they have judges), which was discouraging. I'm glad I found MLR. I still like Video Games, but just don't play them as often now, since ponies take up my time.
Oh yes, a song. It's not the original song from Metroid Prime, but it's so good, it should be:
(TBH, I actually went looking for an old thread that I was interested in)
You can't have a video game soundtrack without the video game that revolutionized video game music for years to come. Seriously, when this game came out, the first thing that amazed me was the music. Up until that point, it was standard MIDI based songs. I remember just plugging the game CD into my walkman and listening to these tracks on the way to school. With that said, here's one of the first games to feature Red Book CD audio:
And here's a similar game that used Red Book as well:
Lastly, here's one of my favorite games as a kid. Sorry I can't find an upload of just the soundtrack, but here's a little history behind it. The original Descent for PC featured a MIDI soundtrack, but the Mac version that came out later featured Red Book audio. The awesome thing about it though, is the new soundtrack actually used many of the compositions for the original game, so they're basically recorded covers of the actual songs in the game. So for example, this track:
is actually a remix of this level from this original:
Because I don't want to spend a plethora of hours effectively drowning this thread in a digital sea of videos, I'll maintain a system of an assorted 5 videos (in no particular order) at 1 song per series (per post). Expect me to come back very soon and very often.
Although I'm more of a music appreciator than a music maker (due to a lethal combination of laziness and lack of self-confidence) I do have rare moments where I actually do make stuff.
