Should this thread be posted in the MLPFIM section? I was unsure.
I was thinking of cancelling my current game projects (which you probably don't know about anyway), to work on "Equestria RPG". A role playing game based on ponies and Equestria. Now, personally I think Equestria is PERFECTLY suited to being an RPG environment, the only thing different to other RPG's are ponies, pegasus, etc.. But I'm sure we could work out how things would work.
YES, I've seen a few pony RP games (this excludes the non-RPG's I found) already on YouTube. Equestria Online and a few old-school RP games on it, but they all look horrible, imo, and I think I could make something better. This one looks okay, but I still think I can do better.
What I wanted to do was make an open RPG with quests n' stuff. I'm not sure what to do for the combat, etc cause that completely doesn't fit in with the show, but I had a few ideas for quests.
I want this game to be completely influenced by the community, so I have a few questions;
Should I even make the game?
Should it be an "old-school" RPG or a modern 3D RPG? If it were to be the more graphical 3D RPG I'd need a team to help me make the game and it'd possibly take somewhat more time to make, but look graphically more appealing. An "Old-school" RPG would include more content with less time to get to the stage the 3D RPG would be at, just less graphically appealing. REALLY I could make this sort of RPG alone, but I might be able to find some people to help me
Should your character be a pony from the show? Or should there be a character creation screen? (where you can select colour, whether to me a pony, pegasus, etc, choose your cutie mark, etc)
Is anyone interested in composing music for the game if I were to go along with it? (It would need ambient music, and I'm not very good at it)
It seems this is just a random decision I've made, but it's not, I have previously been making a 3D RP game, so I've had some experience. (I cancelled it)

If I were to make a 3D version of this game, it might look like that - except ponified.
