Radio

In MLR, we have quite our little diverse community, with people from all regions of the United states and at least 8 different countries. With that in mind, i wonder: is the radio as annoying everywhere as where i am? I mean do you have a really god damn annoying DJ who never shuts up, plays the same 5 songs in a loop everyday and is just generally impossible to ignore?

I ignore the radio witha passion over here. I just hate to have the control of the music I'm hearing taken from me (although my wife has had good look with Pandora which at least adapts to your taste). I'd rather get music on my own.

I remember a radio station called Radio Nostalgia that plays 60s-90s various music 24/7 without any DJs "Hollering at you" ^^

I'm fine with the Japanese radios, at least it's better than the ones in the US IMO I just hate how DJs Interrupt in the middle of a song

The radio station my grandmother keeps locked here has a dj that starts everyday with a "remix" which consists mostly of playing bits of the same songs and adding a transition in between. I wish i could change the station, but there's only like two Spanish radio stations here and my grandmother don't want to listen to Mexican music.

Yes. The Party Cannon EP is on the list of stuff we listen to.

In other words. Nope. No radio.

CD's if anything in the car. We actually have a good "everything" station. They play lots of good 70's-80's pop, some rock from the 90's. It's pretty good. Other than that, everything is cringe-worthy.

edit: I might burn Super Ponybeat to a CD now that I think about it

I only listen to the radio when I drive because sometimes I get too lazy to plug my Ipod in. Our DJ isn't very obnoxious and he has a sexy voice that doesn't hurt either. But they mostly play top 40s so... yah.

I stopped listening to the radio a while ago. Now I just listen to my iPod in the car.

A much better choice IMO.

i used to listen to my ipod in the car, but recently it kicked the bucket, so i've been forced to listen to the radio.

there's a lot of trash on the airwaves near where i am, but my good standby is this awesome jazz station. they play pretty good stuff on my way to school, and they play funk and motown every saturday morning, which is pretty awesome

I wish I didn't have to listen to the radio in my car :[ but there is no auxiliary input, and the CD player is broken. All I have is the radio.

There's a couple good stations out here, I suppose, but they mostly just play the same 10 or so songs all day.

DI.FM is the only radio I can stand listening to. Usually plays EPs and promos that are not released yet, with exceptions of (note: really good) mixes with tracks that I do know, but are not over a month old. And the diversity of genres! <3

Satelite radio is decent if you're willing to pay for it
I used to listen to XM radio all the time when we got it through our TV service, had a great metal station. Then we switched TV services and got some other terribad satellite radio with it which wasn't worth the listen.

But yeah, FM radio just isn't worth listening to here if you don't want to hear the same crap over and over again.

I actually really like XM. I wish I had it in my car, I've found a couple good metal stations and a great house station on there. Wish I still had it.

I enjoyed it too. I was sitting at home the day after a Sym X show and I turned it on my TV and the first station I put on was playing a Sym X song. It was awesome.

Shortly after I switched to cable so no more satellite radio for me.

If I could listen to BBC Radio One, it would be on every waking moment. But it's not so my radio station is called Shuffle.
