Parents reactions to you liking ponies.

So I am curious... who here's parents (or siblings [or any family, for that matter]) knows about them liking ponies? How did you tell them? or did they just find out somehow?

Did you accidentally use pony language in place of your own? (everypony, etc.)
Do you have easily-noticeable figures in your room?
Were you caught clopping like a dirty mule?

Or did you just not give a buck, and tell them straight up like a boss?

Me? I show my dad all the music I make, so I had to explain that I found an awesome show and fandom that I just had to remix.


What were the reactions? So far, my dad has jokingly called me a paedophile and a faggot. Mum says I should get into collecting something a little more grown up and manly than ponies.

(so far I have 3 G3 ponies, 1 G2, the mane 6 g4, a sparkly pinkie pie blind bag and a metric fuckton of Heinz pony pasta).

It began when I switched my facebook image to Rainbow Dash, my sister asked me what the deal was (in her style, which is along the lines of: Oi Fag! Etc...) I then changed my profile pic to a different picture of Dash every 10 or so minutes, just to annoy her...it worked! Mother noticed (facebook friend) and asked what the dealio was...
I explained...lols were had for about an hour or so, but because I made it look like it's not a big deal, teasing stopped quickly! Now, parents don't care, sister still gets annoyed, slowly converting brother, all is well!

At first, my mom and my sister were both "WTF?" Now my sister likes the show, too, and my mom's still "WTF?"

It doesn't hurt that I've converted almost all of my friends and we have pony marathons every once in a while. =3

Pretty much all my friends know. Most of them just don't care or let me do whatever the fuck I like and some of them even joined me. :V

My mother watches some episodes with me sometimes. My dad just things I'm a faggot, but really who gives a shit about him. <_<

My dad just goes eerily silent every time it comes up. Mom acts like it's good that I've found something I'm interested in, but I can tell she really isn't all that thrilled either -- really she probably just doesn't have an opinion on it at all.

My mom found out when she came up to me one day and was like, "What're you watching?" like she thought I was watching porn or something and I was all like, "Oh. My Little Pony." to which she snatched the laptop off the table in disbelief.

She was kinda iffy at first, but then I showed her the stuff that the fanbase (all you awesome beasts out there) put out and she was convinced that I'm not actually insane.

My brother tries to make fun of me for it. Except I can make fun of him for spending all his time watching LPs of various videogames so it evens out.

And my dad really doesn't care.

Well my dad doesn't know since my parenta are divorced and I live with mom. And mom atfirst laughed at me for watching ponies but when I explained her about the community and that I get inspired to make music or draw because of the community and the show she started suporting me. Although I dont know how she'll react to Pinkie toy on the table, she's on vacation so still doesnt know I bougt Pinkie and 1 blind-bag

My mom has known since I've became a brony. She's supportive as always.

My dad just recently found out. He acted much cooler about it than I expected. I mean, he laughed, but it wasn't a cruel laugh. Yet, he didn't say much either, which makes it odd. I guess the truth is I don't really know what he thinks.

Mom: Already knows I'm into weird/girly stuff/crossdressing so not surprised at all. Shared anecdotal things about how my (very much older) sister didn't like them that much or something and that was it.

Dad: Doesn't know as much about the crossdressing and all that, but I told him I was making remixes of the stuff and he thought it was a great opportunity because he wants me to continue making music, so he thinks what I'm doing with it is cool.
