The Hot Diggety Demon's videos aren't really considered r34, or even close. Nor does r34 threaten the community. After all, r34 and the term, "clopping," have been around the community longer than I have, so it's nothing new.
What I don't like seeing, is EqD promoting that stuff, which is a double standard at best, considering on one hand, EqD refuses to post clopfics, r34, and cupcakes related stuff, but on the other, it seems perfectly fine to post saucy pictures and/or jokes related to clopping on there, such as:
http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/02/s ... -book.htmlhttp://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/12/g ... -chop.htmlhttp://www.equestriadaily.com/2012/02/t ... -pony.htmlJust as a few examples. Not to mention that poll Seth made asking what kind of pony fan people were, which included a, "Clop clop clop," option, later with Seth pointing out something along the lines of, "About 20% of you are into it."
Now, I understand that this is Seth's blog, but here's the catch:
It's no longer Seth's blog.
I'm not talking overall ownership. I'm talking perception.
Equestria Daily is not viewed from the outside as, "Seth's Blog." It's viewed as the, "official," MLP fan page, and represents the brony community as a whole. Thus, what we're into as bronies is directly related to what is posted on EqD.
If clopping is frequently referenced, in addition to saucy pictures, the perception is most bronies are into clopping, which, if somebody is, fine on them, but that's not what I want MY perception to be.
EqD has come a long way though, and I think the admins are starting to catch onto the idea that whatever they post influences the community and the perception of it, but there's still work to be done.
Sometimes I wish people would take a step back and look how their actions can influence the perception of others.
