Your Youtube is Changing

Just a heads up that the old youtube style is gone. There's been a forced upgrade. If you have a youtube you'll need to go in and edit it to the meet the clean new format.

I hate change but maybe its not as awful as i expected. Still you'll need to select how to make it look good and likely redesign it so don't forget to do so.

Oh yeah. I noticed that the other day. Then a little message popped up telling me they think I'll like the changes. I don't consider this an upgrade though. The biggest change in functionality that I noticed was you can no longer play videos from playlists on the users channel. I always did that with kyrospawns videos and stuff because of how well they were divided and since they're only a few seconds long. I also feel like it took away a lot of the personalization (like being able to make the boxes slightly transparent). But that's sort of the trend in YouTube changes. blah.

Lets make this sound more positive! I love how the new "networking" layout highlights other channels much easier. And looking at all of a persons playlists seems better now... Um... I'm sure there's probably more positives. But for now, I'll just leave this here:

Steal your information and make things increasingly dumbed down and simple?* Sure seems to be working. At least the Facebook changes have kinda made sense. The YouTube ones really feel like a tumble backwards down the stairs. But maybe they'll improve on it and add to it so people like it... Because that's totally worked and happened in the past.

I hate FB more and more with each change they make.

Not sure how I feel about this new YT change. It does, "look nicer," but in regards to functionality, it takes some getting used to.

I don't mind every other change they've made over the last 3 months, but channel design change wasn't any good.

New channel design: FUCKING HORRIBLE IT LOOKS LIKE SHIT
Everything else in the update: Not too bad.
I kind of like the darker top bar, and the feed looks nicer.
BUT THE FUCKING CHANNEL DESIGN.

its so clean and impersonal. only positive is how much better it highlights the rest of your videos if you select that page to pop up.

Google must be preparing us all to become mindless robots. This step in making the YouTube channels less personal and all more uniform will make the transition much easier.

I think I must be the only person who likes the new channel design! The old one was so cluttered and myspace-ish, everything was too small, scrolling through the users uploaded videos took too long, and it was just generally a huge mess. Having each channel be a unique special snowflake is not nesacerly a good thing, as myspace proved back in the mid '00s.

I much prefer the new one, and there's enough customization to make your channel stand out, and all the most important information is clearly presented. The only thing I dont like is that the channel comments are too hidden, and there's not a layout option to bring them to prominence. If they fix that, it'll be perfec'.

In case anyone noticed there's a bug currently with youtube playlists. I've seen my playlist which WAS my channel's featured page be re-arranged 4 times now so my current videos show up at the end instead of the beginning. Keep fixing it and an hour or two later it reverts. I know I am not alone as i saw a google help chat on it but fyi. frustrating...
