Oh hi, this is about me!
Aha, I joined and I didn't even notice.
I think folk are a little unclear of my intentions here, so *deep breath*
Welp, really, I just started this little thing for a bit of fun. I'm a bit of a musicologist, and a huge dance music history nerd. It was originally just going to be for me, so I could put music out under lots of different guises but still have some sort of overarching label, a-la-lapfox, but seeing as people seemed interested in getting things on it, I thought sure, why not.
My whole concept is that it's a fictional label based in Cloudsdale that's been releasing records since electronic dance music first reared its ugly head, but it's been dormant since the late 90s and has only just resurfaced. I've got a big love for older dance, 90s, 80s shit, so I wanted to create such a continuity for the equestrian universe. Surely it must have its own classic dance records, its own history of producers and DJs. The parts of some of which I hope to play myself, putting out my own retro styled dance tracks, and hopefully, I'll have a few other folk on board to fill in on the dance genres I'm not so hot at! Anypony who wants to get on board with this unusual drive, be my guest

I chose the name Equestiran Hype as a nod to oldskool producer Urban Hype. Top tunes from that lad.
Apart from that, I'll be putting out non retro stuff too, but it'll all be wrapped up in the guise of records that are actually coming out in Equestria right now, and I'll be writing blurbs for them as such. It also serves the function of pooling subs onto a single channel for us smaller artists. So if you want to be involved, tell us where your producer character is from, give us a bit of a bio and I'll see what I can do!
So yeah, it's a bit of both, all wrapped up in roleplay. Confusing? You betcha. This is really just my little auteur project. There should be a website up soon detailing the full history and lore of all this stuff.

Peace,
Mallard.
