ITT: The story behind your username/artist name.

Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

It's just something I forced out of my head after staring at my computer screen for over half an hour.

I just googled random DJ terms until I saw Beat Match and said, "Yep, that's it."

What is my favorite scale?

What is my favorite thing to cause?

What is the best fandom?

And that is how I made my username.

Sonic Breakbeat = Sonic Rainboom + Breakbeat

Breakbeat because I am a fan of and I mostly make Drum n' Bass music, and well it sorta sounds like "Rainboom" in a way.

I pretty much only use one name for any discussion board posts I make, and that's ph00tbag. Seeing as I'm one of only two or three human beings to use the name (and I'm 100% convinced anyone else using it got it from me), I find that it's a good way for someone to be able to say, "oh hey, aren't you that ph00tbag from thus and so web forum?" and I can just say, yep.

As for where it came from, basically I was in an AIM chatroom a long time ago with some friends of mine from school, and one of them was trying to come up with nonce insults for people, and he called me a ph00tbag. I thought it was a funny and weird name, so I started calling myself by it in AIM, and in my internet ventures.

As for the name I use for my pony music, it's pretty obvious. Sonic Rainbooms are awesome, and no one else was calling themselves that, that I could tell, so I started using it instead of my regular artist name, jex.

Well, I blame Kingdom Hearts, specifically Organization XIII with their naming system of your-name-here+the-letter-x=anagram-which-is-your-new-name

Aaron+x= Anorax

not too hard

I don't really have one... I starting using Artimeus on Counter-Strike: Source and TF2 way back in the day, and it's stuck ever since. It's kind of a letter-swap for Amadeus.

My old Producer name used to be Omega4.5 inspired by the DJ/producer who inspired me to become one myself, his name is PALADIN2.1 And after meeting him he gave me his autograph which only said "Lead, Follow, or F%*K off." So, I became Omega4.5 till about a year back, I was going to change my name to Skire but it was already taken. So, I switched it around a bit, and became exKyre.

I've always been a sucker for History. Enough for me to Know that Satyr's were known greatly for their music. I always enjoyed reading about Satyr's. I enjoyed the poems and folk-tales that included them. I love the way they looked. Therefore giving me the idea for the Name 'Satyr' I felt like that part of the name was necessary. However, I had been thinking up of stuff and added a 'Henge' For the overall idea that my music was going to be Strange. (Aphex Twin Strange, not Weird Al Strange)

Kopaka (favorite Bionicle) + Christopher (real first name) = Kopachris

I've had this name for at least a decade, since I was 8 years old. (And when I finally got around to making a Twitter account, the name was already taken! )

I've actually gone through a ton of names.

DJ Morningstar-I was really into trance music at the time. Star..morning...space. Y'know, that stuff.
DJ Mint-I eventually thought that fit better for trance...
DJ Bleach-...until I discovered that there was already a DJ Mint.
DJ Brasska-I just thought this one sounded cool, and I used it for my early early stuff.
DJ Damage-Also based off sounding cool.
T3CHN0 Fi3ND (Techno Fiend)-I used this one for about a year, but it seemed too dark to represent my style, considering I only have a couple of songs.

Bass Rabbit (Current)-I love bass. I love rabbits. End of story. Though I'm thinking about changing it again, considering all the musicians with the word "Bass" in their name.

Scrapped Names: X2C, DJ UN-SMiLEY, Chanson Noire, That Guy With Eyeliner (For House), Zer0 Divide, Winter Staircase, DJ R.u.-N.O. (Raving Underground Nightclub Operation), Planet Ludo, DJ m.i.L.k. (Midnight Inside Loud Kaos).
"I'm not smart, I just have a good vocabulary."
