Greetings, fellow bronies.

I'm a college student studying Computer Science. I've been a brony for the better part of a year, and I'm really impressed with all the music that bronies make. Since I have some free time now with school out for the summer, I thought I'd try making some music myself.

I've had some experience making music before. I took a semester course in music theory a while ago, and I've written a few simple songs. I sing (a little), play piano (a little), and play guitar (a little). But prior to investigating the brony music scene, I hadn't realized how much great music could be produced on a computer without any actual instruments. It seems really interesting to me, so I decided to give it a try.

Right now I'm using LMMS and some free VSTs. I'll consider upgrading to paid software if I ever get good enough to warrant it. I have a lot to learn about music composition and production, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. I don't have a favorite genre per se, but I like music that combines old and new, e.g. including orchestral instruments in a song with a modern beat.

I hope to learn a lot here and improve my work, and maybe make some friends too. It's nice to meet everyone.

Hi, bronies of MLR
You can call me Tiazn.

I make music, well started making music actually.
I've pretty much lurked here for quite a while already, only now that I'm introducing myself :p

I've been playing music for quite a while, since I was 5. Started playing the piano, then moving on to play the violin. I'm still not really good at playing, but I've always had a passion for music, good music.

As with many of us, ponies are what got me to start producing music, and seeing how amazing of a community we have here.

Downloaded Ableton around the beginning of January, and started tweaking and messing around since then. I've finished a music track just now, good and hard probably, and submitted it to the BP album.
In the end, who knows just how many pony tracks I will make? I just hang there and produce on.

Surprisingly or not, I do not current own any music hardware. However, I hope I'll be able to get good headphones, a midi controller, and even a microphone soon :).

As for genres: as much as i like good dubstep, drum and bass, especially the liquid kind, is my favorite.
Other than that, I do not have anything against any other genre.

It's around 12am right now, and I am taking the SAT tomorrow, but no matter anyhow

Hello everyone. I'm new. Obviously. I mean, I'm posting in an introduction thread, so you probably figured I was new. At this rate I'll end up saying I'm a brony and that I like music. Well, I just did. Self-fulfilling prophecy.

Anyway.

I've been writing music for a couple of years, though nothing pony-related until recently. I was reading through the Know Your Meme MLP entry and I saw a link to this site. And hooo boy, was I happy to see this. Not sure how I missed it for the past six months, actually.

Ultimately, I'm aiming to be a professional musician, with the touring and the music and the what-have-you. Right now, it's ponies for me, though. I sing and rap and stuff.

Anyway, I feel like I've indulged in this self-aggrandization long enough. I will see you around the forums. You know, the ones we're on right now.
RIP Kiki Havivy. You will be missed...

Hello everypony.

I am new here, and to the whole business of making music.
However, I am a huge fan of brony music and I would love to get more into the music community, even if that means I don't make anything good.

I am not 100% sure what I mean by that, but I am sure it makes sense somewhere.

It might have something to do with me following your Soundcloud or something.

Anyways, I would like to go about making a thread in 'Music Related', but I don't know if I should post an individual track first, then a Discography... thing. Or go with the Discography first.

Halp?

Oh, you're StevenMagnet. I'm listening to all of your stuff now

Also, looking at how many tracks you have already, I'd go with a discography first, and make feedback posts with newer stuff that's not done yet.

Actually, now that I'm here I might have to get on with that "making pony songs" lark...
I was inspired to start making music after listening to pony fan songs, but haven't actually done any pony music yet.

Heyo, everyone! I'm Jack and I am very new to all of this music production stuff (only been toying with Ableton for about a month). I've come here to learn and possibly share some work when I eventually get down to creating something worthwhile!

Outside of toying with Ableton, I spend a lot of my time working, listening to music of all forms, gaming, and commuting to and from work.

EZ MLR, I'll do a proper intro over here I think :3

I'm SixofLasers, from Detroit (yep). I suppose we're all here cuz we like ponies and making tunes, yeah? :3 I've been lurking here for a good while... finally got brave enough to submit a track for Balloon Party. I can't even put into words how honored I am to be included in it, and I'm stoked to be a part of this community - there are so many great artists here, and the support and general level of awesomeness of everyone here is really cool!!
