Yes, but it's a collab I'm working on.

This new piece was completely new experience in terms of motivation.

The bucking thing haunted me until I finished at least a first mix of it. I've barely slept.

how's the collab goin, btw?

Long story short, vinylxscratch. All I will say. And the collab... in between being away from my desktop over the weekend and stuff getting crazy at school, I haven't been working on it and probably won't until Friday. :/

I'm trying to rush my collab with Flutter Bully and ElectroKasplosion out the door as it is. Shit's intense.

How is rule 34 motivating? Is it like song inspiration, or your treat to yourself after you make a song, or what? I'm not sure how you motivate yourself with rule 34. Nothing against r34, but that made no sense.

Wait, I've got it! You want rule 34 made of you by fans!!!

Oh. My mistake.

Think about it this way. You probably will never have to deal with fan made r34 as much as Mic the Microphone. They wrote an entire clopfic with him, Cyril, and Ibringdalulz. It sucked.

I once came across R34 of him and Jackle in one of my... browsing sessions. >_>
Never again.

Also, that story was actually pretty hilarious.

Back on the topic of motivation, has anyone ever made a song just for the sake of naming it something specific? Last week I was about to abandon a project halfway through but then I stopped and thought "Hm... nah, totally worth the pun" and finished it. It turned out awful, but that's beside the point. Right now I'm working on an entirely different project for the exact same reason.

I like puns, you see.

Do albums count? One day in Latin, I came across something interesting in the dictionary section of my book. 'Sol' is Latin for sun, 'Solus' is Latin for alone. I had the great idea for a concept EP about Celestia called Solus (stylized as such on the album cover). I even drafted up the aforementioned album art, which I've since lost and need to recreate. I just love that name. Haunting, in a way. It's currently just an entry in my to-do list, but I plan on writing it.

The inspiration for musical ideas inside, and the feeling of accomplishment, acceptance, and self-actualization that I hope will come when I make more songs.

Funny you should mention this. On my drive home from work today I came up with a concept for a song simply based on what I thought might make a good title.

It's a bit weird. The process of making music itself is always quite frustrating and often it's not really fun. However that's probably mainly because i'm pretty uncompromising and the music i can make is not the music i want to make. However for some weird reason there are people who enjoy it, sometimes only 2 or 3 but that's enough to keep me motivated. I like presenting stuff to people. I've done that for over 15 years or so perhaps (movies and games mainly). I just really like to entertain people.

Of course ponies do inspire me otherwise i wouldn't make music at all but like i said: The actual process is very frustrating.

writing it as you record it.

But when you're making electronic stuff you're not really recording in the sense that you're recording an instrument.

I think I'm getting better at Mixcraft. I'm making a dubstep track and I still need help. This is how much I've gotten:
