Leaving for a While

Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

He can also argue electronic music is just button pushing while rock music takes passion and skill, and there is little you can do to show him otherwise. I'm sure at least some of us will be like that in regard to some new thing that will pop up. In the father's mind, he is totally reasonable because in his mind all of this is a waste of time. Just like a father would take someone's skate or guitar away 20-30 years ago, not realizing skating and playing the guitar is an art in itself, not just mindless entertainment for many kids.

I'm not. What you just said is a perfect example of a narrow-minded adult. It's a sad world we live in. World governments keep talking about educating young people on certain aspects of life, but perhaps it's time to move this to the next level.

When those narrow minded adults were growing up, they also thought of their parents as narrow minded adults. I'm saying that we all can grow up to be narrow minded for future things.

I'm 23 and I'm watching a cartoon that is considered to be for little girls - I'll never grow to be a person like that. And how do I know that? I just do - that's how my own parents brought me up.

From what I can tell, the "last straw" was when he told me to wash my car yesterday and I opted to take it in through a drive-thru wash instead[...]

I know you may not read this anymore but...the last straw was that you didn't want to wash your car yourself? Seriously!? Woah, just woah.

I'm still not sure if i understood it correctly.
