Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

Hello, I'm a 28y old french brony. I know MLP:FiM since some years, I was curious about why so "old" people love it, I've watched and loved. My favorite pony is Pinkie : she's so like in a "Tex Avery". My Cutie Mark is an atom : I love physic so much ^^ . If I were a pony, I'd like be an unicorn : magic allow to fly, but fly don't allow magic :D About music, I'm better on my computer than on synthesizer and I've never learned solfège, but I made some music in the past and I hope make some beautiful mlp musics.
sup guys, I'm SuperSolidSnake (SSS or just snake). I recently became a music production partner with JacobPadilla, who introduced me to this site. I'm quite interested in psychedelic and classic rock music and share many music interests with JP, which is a major reason why we had our partnership. I also find insanity (not all types of insanity, however) and randomness awesome. I'm also a Zoroastrian (an ancient religion founded in Persia) magi/wizard. Obviously, I'm also a big fan MGS. So that's me. Hoping to make many contributions and whatnot.
Insanity, you say? Remind me to introduce you to the world of Harsh Noise some time.
Hey there, welcome to MLR, your friendly neighbor. Watch out for random objects getting thrown around though. When you see peopke duck, it has a reason. So, ask us whatever you want to know (in the appropriate place), embrace our Aristocratic society, and enjoy your stay!

Hey MLR. I don't really know where to begin with this introduction.. I found this website through random-music-related-mouseclicking. I listened to some songs, read a few threads here and there - decided to register. Really dig the website so far. :)
So, I go by the name Moonkat, I don't know where I got that name from really... Something worth mentioning may be that I love Space and I love cats, so that could be 2 of the many reasons I use 'MOONKAT' as my pseudonym, but there are a lot of other very... Spaced out things behind the name as well.
Anyhow, I've been working with music for a few years now. I think I started out seriously back in my first year at college. I had some previous knowledge about music production before entering college, so naturally I held a bit more knowledge than most of the students in my class. I was usually chosen by our teacher to help out the other students during class if any was needed. This is one of many things that kept me going when it came to working with music. It really motivated me, knowing I was good at something, and helping people out doing something I really like.
It didn't take long before I started making my own music, getting a bit more in-depth knowledge regarding music production, I started out 'copying' famous songs, trying to recreate the sounds that made these artists what they were/are today, and used these sounds as a starting point, reshaping them to my own liking. I guess I could label the music I did back then as underground house/indiepop. Weird combination haha.
So I continued doing music; I was sucked in to a lot of different genres and had my phases where I only listened to music specific to one genre. Could be everything from future house to jazz.
I had some connections in the music business here in Sweden so, a few years ago I was given the opportunity to work with music in a multimedia environment, specifically a soundtrack to a Swedish movie that was going to be released in Swedish cinemas. The title of this movie is "The Stig-Helmer Story". Even though I did not create the music in the movie myself, it was a very interesting oppurtunity to expand my views on music production, and I did get to chance to make some adjustments to the music in the film, that was actually kept in the final mix. That was a major boost to my confidence and that's what really triggered me to start making my own music, and following a dream to be able to have music as my occupation.
Last year, I was on a vacation to Berlin, and this was an experience that would change my life. I didn't listen much to Techno before visiting Berlin. I didn't know much about it at all. All I thought Techno was before going to Berlin, was that it was music for basement dwelling nerds , with major, melodies without any feeling to it (not indicating that this is a bad thing, just, not my cup of tea!).
I have never been so wrong in my life about something.
Berlin gave me such an insight to what Techno really is, techno has shaped electronic music to what it is today. When I visited clubs such as Berghain and Tresor, I was amazed by the gritty, messy, old sound of true techno. When I was there, specifically Berghain, Adam Beyer was playing. A Swedish techno icon, and creator of the label Drumcode, and it was one of the best experiences in my life. Which is kind of sad in one way, because I was on a lot of different drugs during my visit. I'm very liberal to when it comes to drugs, I do not judge people who use it and neither those who don't, but it really did change something within me, something positive.
I feel like I've written too much.. I'll try to wrap this up, I'm a Swedish 22 year old producer, I work mostly with Retrowave inspired music and on another side-project, Techno, mostly making my own tracks, not DJ'ing, as I have no DJ hardware, although, I did reroute my NI Maschine to work as a DJ Controller, haha! Works for the most basic stuff, if you wanna try out Traktor 2 for example and own a Maschine but not a Traktor controller!
I work in Logic X, 99% of the time. As of right now, I focus heavily on my own music, and not recording other artists or "helping out". I just decided to focus on my own stuff for the time being. I can't say I have any specialisation when it comes to music production since I've worked with most genres, but my focus is on the electronic spectrum.
If you have any questions, or simply wanna talk music, hit me up. I hope I get the chance to speak to some of you soon.
Here is some music I mentioned in the introduction (this is some ooooold-school stuff ladies and gentlemen, this is a major influence to the explosion of electronic music! :D) DRUMCODE #1
Dmn Moonkat I love the retro vibe in your music especially HAL9000. Anyway welcome to MLR enjoy your stay :3 I'm the local Synth slut (as I'm called) so anything to do with hardware synths (especially analog) give me a buzz :3
Hey, I'm FlyingNinjaBannanas (Don't know how I came up with that username, must've been really tired) or Calamity. I make things that relate to other things that may be musical things. I fiqured I'd revisit this place a bit, as music has been a fantastic hobby as of late. At least until I can spread my wings onto a better computer. For now though, I'm sticking to this.
(This is for new people mostly, as I'm sure most people here recognize me or at least know I exist.)
