The hugging/venting thread

Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

Here (in the US for me too) people say queer a lot just as a neutral description. Nobody says queer pride but nobody uses it as an insult either. Like there is a QSA at my school which actually means queer straigth alliance. that one word that starts with an f and is used mostly by dumb gamers who call each other "n00b" is however considered a rude word here.
In the uk I though people just said queer as in "How queer everything is to-day!" (from Alice in Wonderland.)

Also queer can be used by people who are Gender neutral. I have a friend who says their gender is queer

I thought it just meant "people who aren't straight people," a sort of catch-all option.

I've always heard it used as a derogatory term for homosexuals.

It's not about bandcamp (although they DID try to sell my song).
They released my song.
Then they said they didn't like it and took it down.
So I messaged them and said "you can take my other song down too, because I quit."

Hell, the record company is run by a 13 year old. It was a bad idea to trust it in the first place.

Bureaucracies can be so annoying. I've been attached to a job since the beginning of the month and been able to work for almost as long. Yet thanks to new, sudden and unannounced regulations from Washington, I'm stuck not being able to work for at least 2 more works. With no laptop, because I have to return it Wednesday.

Oh, I've watched Soccer too and I know exactly what you're talking about, I actually think Soccer has the worst diving in any of the professional sports, hockey being the second, atleast from what I've witnessed. Yeah it's frustrating, because the refs fall for it all the time, giving out penalties if it were hockey, or yellow and red cards if Soccer, it's ridiculous

Also I know how you feel about not getting critique and getting sucked into the idea that your song is gold for the longest time, even though it probably isn't. I've always felt proper feedback is such an important aspect to improving as a musician, and it sucks because I don't get any either. It will give you a reality of what's good, and what needs work. The ear can be real deceiving.

Do you guys want to know what is the stupidest fucking thing you could ever do, and is just too fucking stupid to describe in words? Roleplay clop on the memebase user dashboard. Out of all the many places, chatrooms, forums and other sites on the internet, you would choose memebase to go and seek sexual relief. Like, jesus christ add each other on skype and you both can virtually fuck each others ponysonas all day long, but doing that on memebase is just plain sick, disgusting and rude for everybody. Not only is it the most inappropriate place to do it, but it intrudes on other people who are just browsing memes and pictures on their dashboards, the majority of whom are most likely not cloppers! And the worse part is, the people who were doing it just didn't even care! How much more vile and inconsiderate do you have to be, those guys the the most low people in society that I'm aware of. Lower than conformists even. The whole cheezburger network needs a report button for users like that. They're plenty aware that they can just go to an isolated spot on the internet and do it as much as they want without interference, and the fact that they don't is like walking into a hotel lobby and finding two people having sex right on one of the chairs in the lobby. Those people are filthy and disgusting sexual deviants who embarrass everybody in the hotel and degrade the overall image of the hotel. Before anybody calls me out for being a clopper hater, I don't actually care, it's just where they're doing it that I do care about. The user's name on memebase is ParadoxialEvent, if anybody wants to know

I don't know, I just do. I just keep it up so that when I take an occasional break, I can just look at some memes on the dashboard, it's small enough that it occupies a small amount of time without really disrupting anything.

That's very, very disappointing to hear that someone would do that. I don't get why people have to be such dicks about someones personal decision. It's even more disgusting how he responded to you telling him about your personal choice.

omg that guy sounds like... not a friend. Why do people have to be like that? Like it's not even about rejecting a decision, they're rejecting who you are! That is just... horrible I don't know even what to say except I hope things get better for you! I hope that you have someone to talk to IRL, but if not please remember that we are all here for you <3
