Greetings Bronies!
Before I move forward with my introduction, let me preface it by saying that
all of you inspire me. It is such a wonderful breath of fresh air to see a community where kindhearted, talented people gather, all for the stimulating purpose of inciting artistic challenges for one another ...
also there are ponies here.*dusts off*
Alright, before I make a complete mess of myself...
My name is Matt (known on youtube as KDMatt), as for
d.notive? that's my band name/professional alias. Don't go googling it just yet though, it's still very fresh. I'm 24 years old, a native resident of Minneapolis, and hold a B.A. in Film Studies.
I've been sequencing since I was about 15, and writing songs since I was probably about 5 or 6. I'm a fourth generation musician, and have had almost no formal training.
Also, I've read this entire thread, and it looks like it's safe for me to say ... I'm the only person using
Sonar as a sequencer/DAW? Interesting. I might also surprise a few others by saying that I really don't care much for VST's, in fact, if I had my choice, I'd have a room full of keyboards, and use
zero VST's ...
Influences? I could write a novel about all of the music that's inspired me, but Depeche Mode has, by far, been the biggest influence. I've flown cross country to see them play, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I'm also remiss for not mentioning, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, The Pet Shop Boys, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Deep Purple, Justice, Daft Punk, Fred Falke ... this list goes on forever.
Style? These days I'm getting funky, and I don't mean like Rick James funky, I mean, solid,
smooth, electro funky. I've been addicted to guys like Chromeo, Lorenz Rhode, Dogg Master, The System, and pretty much anything that made its way to Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
However, when I'm not feeling funky, I'm all about DarkWave and Industrial, with a bit of EBM or Trance mixed in there. </closetgoth>
I've also never done a pony remix before, but I'm certainly intrigued by the idea! Competitions give me deadlines, and deadlines give me a reason to finish things, and the more things I finish, the better I get. I assume that's the goal of everypony here.

I'm also, as I mentioned, so completely blown away by the community of musicians that has sprung up around a show I love, it would be silly of me
not to be here.Favorite Pony? Rarity. Without a doubt. (Well, also Doctor Whoof, I'm a huge fan of anyone who sports a sonic screwdriver).
TL;DR - Don't mind me if I skulk around the forums for a while, getting a feel for things.
