Ugly as hell. I don't understand why people are like "Florida is so pretty omg beaches girls palm trees!" like no, it's really ugly here. You won't find a single lawn or anything without a bunch of dead grass, the streets are full of trash, and everything just looks so ugly.
The schools here suck.

Yeah Kyoga, Washington definitely has some nice areas, and then some... not-so-nice areas (i.e. anywhere east of the Cascades huehuehue)

Pros:

The weather is almost always nice.
If its hot, its just an excuse to go to the beach. The water maybe be freezing all the time, but it's pretty fun.

Everything cool is close by: Disneyland is 30 min away. The beach is 20 min away. If you want to go Skiing/snowboarding, Mammoth/Big Bear is just 1 hour away. If you want to go hiking, Yellowstone is close, the Redwoods are close, Griffith National Park (go see the observatory/Hollywood sign) is close. You want to do something, you can probably do it in LA.

If you smoke weed, and I know some of you do, LA has got you covered. Medical Shops are cropping up like McDonalds, LA weed is literally the best weed, second only to NorCal, and you can get a medical card and smoke legaly just by walking into a clinic and saying you have stress.

There is no end to the amount of spots you can just chill at, just go up to the Hollywood moutains, you have a clear view of the city and there is literally no one there.

Very LGBTQ friendly

They have showings of The Room near UCLA.

Mullholland has some pretty sweet shops you can go to, lots of really cool clothes, indie stuff.

Venice Beach. I believe everyone needs to stroll down it once in their life, see the hippies of ages past, new age scientists and castaways making bank. Beautiful beach, very scenic, icon of California.

On a blue moon, you can see a star come out of their house and walk amongst the peasants

Producer heaven, tons of producers everywhere, converse with them.

Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, tons of skate parks, Malibu

In-n-Out, really good burgers, also Fatburger to an equal extent.

Equestria LA, like a little Bronycon. Lauren Faust was at the last one. Got to brofist Eurobeat. Got to see JJ, along with Alex S, Mic, Silva, pretty much everyone was there.


Cons:

Traffic (holy ass munching fuck)

Swag"friends", ear gaped, snake bite wearing, Diamond repping wannabe skaters who can't even pull a fucking ollie yet they still act like they're the fucking shit

There's still a pretty strong conservative base here, these guys are crazy as fuck. They're the ones who caused prop 8, delegalizing gay marriage.

Gun laws are pretty strict here.

LA Unified School District is pretty ridiculous.

I live in Indianapolis, the heart of Indiana. It's... Ok... I guess... If you're a farmer...

Basically, I don't like ANYTHING about the city I'm in. There's no creativity, and everywhere you look is a fucking strip mall. Every store and restaurant is a crappy chain of some kind. It's flat, so the landscape isn't very interesting. Also, everything is laid out for driving; it's not practical to walk anywhere because it's either dangerous or out of the way from any sidewalk. You can't just "go somewhere" and hang out.
The weather is ok. Really cold in winter, really hot in summer. I also live by the biggest state park in Indiana, so that's good. One of the few natural areas left here -_-

The only thing we have here is mediocre agriculture and the Indy 500, which just attracts the NASCAR "types," who I really don't care for.

I live in the suburbs of the tiny village Lottum, Limburg, The Netherlands (my parents don't agree with me this is a suburb, but fukkit I know where I live). A lot of artists live here (and I know none).
I'll just name the pros and the cons.

Pros
- There's a snackbar.
- Noise = 0.
- Nature everywhere around me.
- All my school friends (and other shitty classmates) make fun of Lottum xD (don't even ask).
- No annoying neighbors (those that I have are very nice by the way).
- Crime? What crime?
- Tom-Tom directs people to the far end of the street I live in

Cons
- Tractors.
- Farmers.
- Tractors.
- There's nothing to do. There is an Open Youth Centre though, but they only have Metal nights, with silly tribute acts.
- I have to cycle to school (which isn't much of a problem). And what if winter? Seriously, Mother Nature hates me.
- TRACTORS. EVERYWHERE! ... Luckily I don't live in Hout-Blerick (lame pun only my classmates understand but whatever I'm free to say whatever I want).
- Winters aren't cold (thank god). Snow is. AND WE HAVE SOOOOO MUUUUUCH SNOOOOOOWWWWWWWW!!!!111!1!121@!12
- Summers are unbearably hot and our wolf-dog (am surely going to post pictures of him some time) always destroys our swimming pool.

People posting for LA that don't live in LA proper.

I live in LA county, but I'll be posting about the city (really a suburb) I actually live in, Hacienda Heights.

Pros:
-Lots of things to do (movie theater, arcade/bowling alley, mall, nearby park has free admission concerts on Thursdays)
-Lots of amazing restaurants (mostly Asian food, though, due to the demographic)
-Conveniently placed with ramps to multiple freeways
-I live 5 min. away from the largest Buddhist temple in the US (Hsi Lai Temple) (good for me)

Cons:
-The Drivers. Oh good God, the drivers.
-Not very diverse (except for my little street :3)
-The people aren't the most friendly.

Just found out there's been a murder in the area, most probably within 10 min walking distance from where I live. The police aren't saying allot about it, like not saying how or even where she was killed, so people are suspecting some quite gory stuff. One theory is that she was chopped up (sorry don't know the proper word for chopping somebody up in English).

They aren't sure they caught the killer yet... so that's a but scary. Still, that's the 2nd murder in the area in about 10 years... so I'm not gonna worry to much about that. (still scary, and sad)

Chopped up works just fine (we add particles and prepositions to verbs all the time in English, but lexically it's one word). Butchered implies either intent to eat (which would be quite gruesome) or at the very least being methodological in said chopping up (It can also imply a massacre or just any gruesome murder but I don't those are what you are looking for). So chopped up is a more general term and with the given information a better term.

Yeah, 2 murders in 10 isn't all that scary. Of course I lived in what is generally considered on of the most dangerous and overall most miserable cities in America.

Eeesh. We don't have much like that here. The occasional brutal death-beating, but not much else and usually in the bad part of town.
Also, we have some nice bushwalking trails. I'll post some pictures later (this includes me accidentally ending up in someone's back yard...)

Basingstoke, Hampshire, England (UK):

The good things:

Easy accessibility, in terms of transport
Not far (just 45 mins on the fastest train) from London.
Has a few good restaurants in the town centre's main shopping mall.
It's not too isolated, compared to Plymouth, where I go to university.

The bad things:

There isn't really a herd there (there's only a couple other bronies, but most of the Hampshire herd live down by Southampton/Portsmouth way).
Has quite a reputation for being what we Brits call a 'chav town' (I'm not too sure if the closest US term 'white trash city' would work).
Night-time transport is bad, especially every time I come home from a London meetup.
Not very many (if at all) meetups occur, which is why I often frequent the ones in nearby Reading and London instead.
Old, falling apart buildings.
The amount of roundabouts which can confuse even adept drivers.
Traffic, especially during rush hour.

Strangely enough, I was just on the wikipedia article for chav. I guess white trash city would work, though there really isn't an American cultural equivalent that I can think of. (White trash are usually more rural than chav's)
