Anyway I did a sort by Artist just to see how many times certain artists made the list. By the way apologies to ChocolateChicken. I kind of jumped on him when i only saw the Rina-Chan tombstone song feature and missed the other 2 songs on the list so my apologies for that. She's on there 3 times.
What's even sadder is you get people blasting herfor making in onto the list:
"Sorry, but this did not deserve a spot on the top 100 Brony songs of 2012. I never said it did. I honestly have no idea why it was even voted to be honest; it's a cover/parody of an existing song and I believe the countdown should be reserved for originals. You know what I noticed? The lack of instrumentals in these lists. It could be a good idea to make a list of the top instrumentals that aren't designed to have vocals and you'll find many different musicians that are just as, if not more fantastic than the lists we've seen in the past few days.
Well again I've got a thread on MLR where people can post their favorite tracks of the year. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6243 Am I seeing a lot of lists? No not really. Either people are too lazy at coming up with their own lists or really don't listen to a lot of their fellow brony artists. I guess it's easier to yell at lists that feature music they don't like rather than try to build a list of stuff that they do. Makes me a bit sad as I think an MLR members list would be more diverse and have opinions as well.
But I agree the "public" does like brony tracks with vocals (even cut-up ones). That's been clear for quite sometime when it comes to popular tracks. That's the same outside of brony circles as well. You don't really EVER hear instrumentals on the radio. Makes me miss when you'd hear Makkon or NACP tracks a lot back when this all began.
Wow, the list is pretty good but it only represents the crowdpleasers. There are plenty of "underground" brony artists that need some love. Also the genres are a bit limited: Some dubstep, some metal, some house techno... Where are things like It Started With Your Smile by MandoPony? (Something I would rank as second after Loyalty) And somepony already said this before, but where is Jackle App? His songs are without a doubt some of the most exquisite and emotional songs I've heard. And I kind of wish that this song by And The Rainfall was mentioned, because it is super quirky and bubbly. I'm not going to complain any further because it's somepony's opinion and I should respect that. Besides, it has given valuable insight on who are the most popular musicians. Like I knew Alex S. was famous but I had never listened to any of his music. So I guess that is good.
The list represents the crowdpleasers because the crowd is the group that does the voting. So of course there are tons of lesser known artists that probably deserve to be on the list.
And I think Jackle wasn't there because he hasn't released much this year. Like he's released 5 pony songs, one of them from Balloon Party, so it's still surprising, but not quite so much.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I couldn't quite understand the post. I assume it's your personal top 5? If that's the case, Freewave posted links to other threads about that. This thread's for discussing Everfree's list.
The point is the people they poll to get community votes will barely know anyone outside most popular 5 artists that constantly get featured and spread, therefore calling any community vote "Top" something is downright insulting.

That's why I have a thread on mlr so we can post out lists which will likely have a lot of overlooked tracks. I hope you can put a real list together cause I'm sure you know quite a few yourself that deserve the recognition.

You'd be right, but there's some rock/metal on there, but electronic music reigns supreme here.
